These Poses are Great for beginners.. while i'm not a beginner I have not practiced in a LONG time. Another GREAT resource I found is Esther Ekhart Yoga for beginners! You should check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3vLZqPZxZE
For the REAL beginner....remember that at first you will have trouble with all of these postures but DON'T give up. You will find that your body will adjust and soon you will see progress. You will start to feel a sense of well-being. Yoga is a wonderful form of exercise as it works your body AND mind.
With this pose I would add activate your legs by flexing your quads and rolling your inner thighs inwards as if you're trying to despence and pez thru your thighs..also press down with the tripod of your feet, ball underneath you big toe pinky toe and heal. Lift your toes and then spread them apart and then set them back down. Lift up your torso and roll your shoulders back. Try to have your arms behind your ears and relax the tops of your shoulders and should blades down away from your ears.
