Our Top 10 Thigh Exercises

squats with a ball

Stronger, longer, leaner thighs - yup, we can help you get those. Here, our best upper-leg-exercises.

Squat with Ball

When it comes to thinner thighs, there's no exercise better than a squat. I love this one because of its pseudonym, the Backrub That Fights Thigh Flab.

Do it:

  • Place an exercise ball between the wall and the curve of your lower back.
  • Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  • Bend your knees and lower 5 to 10 inches, keeping your shoulders level and your hips square. Hold this position for 3 seconds and then stand back up.
  • Start with 5 reps and work up to 12. Rest for 30 seconds and do another set.

thanks so much for this article on exercises for thighs Thighs are such a problem area for so many people (including me!). I wish there were more useful articles like this one out there. I especially like this exercise because it can be done at home. all you need is a ball and not necessarily have to go to the gym.

I see that many people are complaining about not being able to print all the slides like we used to be able to BUT I just hit the printer button and when the other window pops up there is still a PRINT ALL SLIDES option. It just opens in another window. I hope that helps everyone!

I agree with the others Fitness, I am so sick and tired of getting excited about a workout and wanting to print it out only to find it has to be done 1 at at time. As the others said you used to be able to print everything at once. Guess I will head over to Women's Health magazine, Prevention or the numerous other fitness sites that allow you to print a whole workout.
