Sample Diet Menu

Breakfast
Low- or nonfat cottage cheese or scrambled egg, fresh fruit, banana muffin (2-ounce or small size), coffee or tea, low- or nonfat milk or yogurt

Lunch
Grilled chicken over mixed salad greens with apple, dried cranberries, walnuts, and low-fat or fat-free poppy seed dressing, whole wheat crackers

Snack
Yogurt and fruit parfait or fresh veggies and low-fat dip

Dinner
Pasta Primavera (lots of veggies) with Herbed Tuna Salad, whole wheat roll

Dessert
Berries with nonfat whipped cream

Sample Workout Routine

Track/Stairs Circuit Workout

Complete 4 times.

  • 2 minutes of easy jogging
  • 4 sets of stairs
  • 2 minutes of walking lunges
  • 1 minute of triceps dips (Use seat of chair, edge of sofa, or stairs.)
  • 1 minute of push-ups
  • 1 minute of squats
  • 1 minute of heel jacks (Perform a jumping jack, tapping heels together in mid-air instead of jumping heels back together on floor.)
  • 1 minute walk

Followed by:

  • 10 minutes of core strengthening moves and stretches
