How Lindsay Price Stays Fit
On Body Image and Booty EnvyOn Lipstick Jungle, you played a sexy fashion designer. Did you feel pressure to live up to that?
I'd be lying if I said I didn't. It was a dream to be able to step into couture clothing straight off the runway, but zipping into size 0 samples made me feel like I had to mold my body into a fashion ideal. I have scars from zippers cutting into me. There was no way I was going to starve myself. So I had to get up in the morning and work hard to tone up. As much as I loved the show, in some ways I was relieved when it was canceled. You revealed a lot of skin on the show. Did that freak you out?
It was terrifying! I've been skydiving, and believe me, taking off my clothes for the camera was scarier than jumping out of a plane. Is Brooke Shields really jealous of your booty?
Brooke and [Lipstick Jungle costar] Kim Raver are fans of my butt. I had a frightening thing happen last year when we were filming in New York City: I had a bunch of spider bites -- three on each, um, cheek. I developed an extreme allergic reaction that made me break out in hives. So I sent Brooke and Kim an e-mail with a photo of what happened. Instead of saying, "Oh my God, I hope you're okay," they said, "Oh my God, I would do anything for that butt!" That made me feel better, I have to say. What do you like best about your body?
My legs, because they're strong and they get me where I need to go. But I'm not liking my knees right now. I'm zoning in on a little pudge there. And yes, I know that's insane.
