Drinking an espresso or 200 milligrams of caffeine 45 minutes before you exercise is a known performance enhancer. You will work out harder, you will work out longer, and it helps your body to mobilize fat stores. Simply standing up burns one and a half times more calories than sitting. If you think about how that adds up over the course of a week, a month, a year, it's a big deal. And there's no excuse not to do it. So whether you're waiting at the doctor's office or making a phone call at work, stand up!
