The Fat-Burning Walking Workout Plan

Learn how to burn more calories and sculpt a tighter tush with every step.

How This Workout Plan Works

The simple workout you're not doing could be the secret to finally peeling those pounds. Walking burns about four calories a minute, and science says they add up to take weight off and keep it off. Walkers have not only less overall flab than couch sitters but less around their bellies as well. "Plus, little tweaks can make any walk melt more calories and firm more muscle fibers," says Whitney M. Cole, a trainer in Los Angeles who leads popular power-walk workouts in the Hollywood Hills. Cole created this do-anytime, do-anywhere plan exclusively for FITNESS to fast track your slim-down. Mix and match the walks here to reach the 150-minute-a-week target that will whip you into shape. Do the total-body toning exercises on slides 7-11 three times a week to look lean.

Good plan, but only walking workout is not good enough for a lean, fit, sexy, feminine body. A complete program must be followed with workouts, diet, healty foods etc. I found lately such a program from Flavia del Monte and I am following it.The program is called "Flavia Del Monte's Licious & Curvalicious Workout Systems". The results are amazing. To achieve the same positive results follow the link below: http://flaviafitness.info

It's not only about the amount of exercise but also how many calories you consume! That is why you are not losing weight, people. Also the body gets used to exercises that you do daily. Try to change it up and do some running or biking or swimming to rev up your metabolism.

I am 70 and have been a size 8 until I started eating more than I needed and watching more TV than I used to. I now have high blood pressure and I know this ten pound weight gain is the culprit. I never blame age as the problem. Calories eaten need to to burned just to maintain the weight. You need to burn more calories than you take in to lose weight. This means a discipling yourself to keep a list of what you eat and what you do.

I walk a lot and am almost 60. Have added running 1/2 hour twice a week with a friend 20 years younger-- no weight loss for years. Guess I'm at my set point. Amazes me how very little I need to eat to just maintain with all this exercise.

I walk 1hour, equals to 5 miles monday thru friday, watch my calories and fat and carbs, still can't lose a single pound. Once I hit 50 years old it's been an uphill battle just to MAINTAIN

I walked a little over 2 miles almost everyday for over 2 years. This brisk walk included steep hills. Didn't lose a pound but felt really great after.

This is great article. I've always blogged about the importance of walking. Just by incorporating a 10-15 mins walk each time we get up to go somewhere or after meal helps tremendously. Then slowly build up the time. It works!
