What you'll need: An 8- to 12-pound kettlebell (Premium bell, $29 to $35, power-systems.com)
Targets: Shoulders, back, abs, obliques, and hips

Holding handle of kettlebell in right hand, arms by sides, stand with feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
- Bend right elbow by side to bring right hand in front of shoulder so that ball of kettlebell rests on front of forearm.

5/3/2012 12:52:15 PM Report Abuse@jeremyschultz1 - Farmer's walk is definitely NOT just for men! Kettlebells are an amazing workout, however, please seek out an RKC instructor. These instructions aren't sufficient and technique is critical, especially as you increase in weights. Please, ladies, don't be afraid to take a class, and work your way up. I started with a 10lb bell and now use 35's and 44's. And don't worry about getting bulky. I'm 5'9 and a size 2. Go show the guys up!
