-Elessa here from Pursebuzz and I'm here with Maxine from Vanity Girl.

-Hi.

-And we're just gonna interview her, talk to her, just a little bit of girl talk. How are you doing today?

-I'm awesome, thanks. How are you?

-Doing good. So we're here in sunny San Diego, just having a blast here at-- what hotel is this?

-We're at the Keating Hotel.

-Keating Hotel.

-Downtown San Diego, Gaslamp district [unk] so it's a guy-friendly hotel but girls like it, too.

-Yeah, it's really cool, so I'll have to get up around this place and check it out later. So back here has like this weird mirror.

-Yeah, and that actually, this room actually fits 2 people, so.

-Oh.

-It's like a jacuzzi.

-[unk]

-Yeah. We've been doing that earlier.

-So tell me, I guess the first thing is,

how did you get started with this Vanity Girl thing because it's so unique and it's just like everyone can have it.

-Oh, thank you. I started, because, like you, I'm obsessed with makeup and girly themes and clothes and fashion and I got laid off. I worked for the American Cancer Society for 11 years and they downsized and so when I got laid off, I was at [unk] trying to make myself feel better and I was getting ready in the mirror and I said, "I really like this," and I think every girl should be able to feel like that at home,

and I knew someone at manufacturing and we just kind of put the idea together and I'm not-- I kind of [unk] launched the vlog and eBay store that I built myself.

-Yeah.

-And 2 days later, something sold to Crystal Ann in Ohio.

-Yay.

-Crystal, I love you. Thank you so much for [unk] so yeah.

-That's, I mean, when did you start? Like, what year did you start?

-I got laid off in January of 2008 and the blog and the eBay store went up in March of 2008.

-Oh, wow.

-Yeah.

-Right away.

-Yeah. Yeah, so it's been 3 years now.

-Wow, congratulations.

-Thank you.

-What I think is so amazing is like if you search vanity, like vanity mirror, and it's like, boom, boom, boom, it's like-- And it's like unique. There isn't anything that's out there that's like it.

-Yeah.

-And I love it because it's one of those things that you can have, anybody can have, you don't have to have like the mirror and then you install lighting and everything. It's so-- it's like a perfect girl--

-Uh huh--

-You have all these colors and I'm like, oh.

-[unk] it's like a flat screen TV, you know, you can just take it, plug it in, and now you got a vanity station and it comes with an Allen wrench and some of the YouTube videos, they've actually assembled them. A good girl can put-- I can put it together by myself. That was one of the prerequisites. I didn't want it to be difficult, I wanted girls to be able to set it up.

-So like how many, I guess, iterations did you have to make to create this final one?

-My [unk] is really awesome so it was...really great, I think we're on number 2.

-Yeah.

-Yeah, they know what they're doing.

-Nice. That's nice, so we're looking at like, you know, like when you think you don't need it, what can't it do, and I'm like, well, I just did.

-[unk] so I need the girls to know exactly like, since I didn't make it right and this is what it is like done.

-So cool. So where can someone find this like?

-And what kind of vanities do you have 'cause you have different ones for different needs, right?

-We do. We have the little one that's a Starlet so that's kind of the starter one and then we go to the Broadway table top which is the one that you have which has 13 lights and then you can plug into it the light dimmer and we've got the Broadway table which has the blow dryer holster, it's like the full saloon at your house. That version was sort of the one that we used-- starting off like routine production so--

-Cool.

-Yeah.

-I'm like, you guys don't tweet about it.

-[unk] so amazingly generous and supportive. She actually blogged about it a few times and tweeted,

so we did our house and we also did [unk]

-I didn't. I didn't. I think about it once a year.

-You're a little busy backstage--

-I can--

-[unk]

-Okay. Next time. I'm really like, oh, my God. I don't know what to do. Yeah, so amazing. So where else does it have like celebrities and where has this appeared in?

-It has, not that much appeared yet but we're working on that but Jennifer Love Hewitt has one--

-I saw her--

-Yeah. Isn't she beautiful?

-Oh, my God--

-Isn't she so beautiful--

-Yes.

-Yeah.

-Red carpet and she-- 'cause sometimes, I mean, that seems a lot of reason, "Who is that?" But, oh, my God.

-Yeah. It's not like the Golden Globes get-- she was in jeans and a white shirt, I'm like, my gosh, she's just gorgeous.

-Uh huh.

-Yeah, just even just jeans and a shirt, look beautiful.

-Well, I'm like, either it's just [unk] but then there's like celebrities, I'm like, oh, my God, because I used to watch Kids, Incorporated and she was on there,

and like, [unk], so for my birthday he like wrote a piece of the song Kids, Incorporated 'cause he knows and it's like all day, he kept playing all these songs from YouTube, Kids, Incorporated. Koren's insane just to hang out with. He took me and Kevin Benett and we went and had these martinis and stuff called ex-lovers and that actually was just crazy.

-Crazy drunk.

-Yeah, I got a lot of pictures, yes. Koren and Kevin in New York, that's a crazy time.

-Yeah.

-Yeah, no secret about it. Anyway, what do you think? Oh, I think it showed my new ring, it kinda looks like this,

and Kevin was like, "Did you steal that from my sink?" You know, like the--

-That is crazy.

-Yeah, so, so since you're super, you know, like girly and everything, I wanna know what are your five favorite makeup products?

-My five favorite makeup products. Okay, Bare Essentials Lip Gloss.

-Oh, really. Never tried it.

-Love it. It has like that minty tingly thing.

-Uh huh.

-Bad Girl Mascara.

-Oh, really? They have that big brush, though, right?

-It does but it comes in a black tube.

-Uh huh.

-Fake eyelashes and then you kinda--

-Oh, yeah.

-Or gel. Or entire gel probably.

-Surprisingly like it's just--

-Yeah, and foundation I really love, I love [unk], I'm gonna try that.

-Yeah, those [unk] with the stippling brush 'cause I won't do the air bend.

-Uh huh.

-I love the concept of it but, you know me, it's not gonna happen.

-Yeah.

-And there's something called [unk], the black black eyeliner, I forgot what-- candy uses it, too. He talks about it--

-Feline?

-No, it's just sort of--

-Technical black.

-Smolder.

-Smolder.

-Okay.

-Yeah.

-My mom loves that one.

-Yeah.

-Buy one for me.

-Yeah, and then Teddy also. Teddy--

-Teddy? Oh, yeah, yeah. So you're Mac then.

-I like Mac, yeah, and I like Bare Essentials.

-I love Bare Essentials' new Buxom line, have you seen it?

-Yes. I love it.

-I got the blue eyeliner and I bought the little like, they're like java but it's like this phony eyeshadow color, it's so amazing.

-I haven't tried that one.

-Oh, my gosh, you have to. Even though they're like $17 or $20, so it's not cheap

but I was like, oh, my gosh, I got them, like this ashy taupe. I bought this green kind of like an army green and this like purple--

-Okay.

-And it feels like foam or like mousse, like, did you ever have yogurt lips?

-Yeah.

-It was like that.

-Okay. I might like that 'cause I like textures so I think I will try that.

-Yeah, it was okay. Really, really tight.

-Okay.

-But, yeah. I'm obsessed with it.

-And what about the Giorgio Armani Foundation? Those little ones?

-You know what's funny is that fashion week, we met a couple people from Giorgio Armani and they did a color match for me and so I'm gonna try it out.

-Okay, let me know what you think 'cause I may-- I read that Kim Kardashian's makeup artist use that and then I've seen it-- I saw a girl on a makeup show, she had it on and her skin looked flawless there.

-Oh, really?

-Yeah.

-I can't wait to try that one.

-Okay.

-And then the brush, they have this like Giorgio Armani brush, it's like-- 'cause I have-- so Koren has like 4000 brushes, I'm gonna say I have like 2000 brushes.

-Okay, I'm not--

-So many, insane.

-I probably have maybe a hundred so I guess I need to catch up.

-It's like-- well, I have like three of the same one, every time when we make a show, you know, and I [unk], what you gonna do, I need a couple.

-Yeah. I like the key brushes. Like only the best, yeah.

-Okay. Do you like pink?

-I haven't tried that.

-I have to give you a pink brush.

-Okay.

-It's so cute. I'm like into colors and just like all that crazy stuff. The next thing is fashion.

-Yeah.

-I wanna know where you like to shop because I've been having the hardest time finding stuff that I just absolutely love, so where do you shop? What's your favorite--

-My latest secret weapon is actually a stylist in LA, it's called [unk], and she does like, almost like we're at the runway.

-Oh.

-So I actually have an [unk] dress on Thursday. Yeah, I've never bought them so--

-Yeah.

-It's a black and white [unk], I'll rock that, so excited.

-Nice.

-So that's when I have to do it in kind of like really dressy, like-- or make anything then I'll see her.

-Uh huh.

-If it's just me, I love-- I love--

I forgot the-- Page.

-Oh.

-[unk] yeah, Page and I like Joe's Jeans.

-Uh huh.

-And Hudson.

-Uh huh.

-And I like Logan's and Nordstroms Rack and I like a deal.

-Oh, yeah.

-I've been looking on-- I don't wanna pick [unk] yeah. And then, of course, you know, there are like [unk] like you want so.

-Yeah.

-Yeah. Mostly in handbags. That's what I know is gonna last.

-Yeah. I love handbags. That's like my--

-Yeah.

-And so-- I went to London, I was in a makeup show--

-This is from London.

-Really?

-Yeah, from Trimark.

-Nice. I was like--

so I was cooped up in the makeup show which isn't so bad but I was like stuck with them all the time and I can go shopping so I went to the airport, there was a [unk] there.

-The airport in London is off the chain.

-Oh, my God. Isn't it--

-Yeah. The shoe-- I bought shoes there when I was leaving, yeah, it's amazing.

-I bought purses there, like, and I was like, how am I-- 'cause normally like if I go to the airports here, you can only have two pieces of luggage, the two pieces, and I was like, if I buy all this stuff, how will I take it home? You know, so okay, oh, of course, [unk] would go bankrupt

so I'm like how about four purses.

-Oh, yeah, uh huh. And great purse and shoes--

-Oh, my God.

-In Heathrow. Yes.

-Like, it's so easy 'cause everything there is so different and so nice. How about this?

-Okay, in London.

-Yeah--

-I guess--

-In the airport.

-So we both have things that I bought just from the airport.

-I wish I could have gone to Heathrow, and like the fashion in London is so different, like I'm like trying to shop off everybody at the makeup show, "Where'd you get that? Where'd you get that?"

So, it was so fun. So now I'm like posting makeup--

-Yeah, I know, that's the next thing you're doing in your evolution of Pursebuzz.

-Yeah.

-Fashion.

-Yeah, yeah, so but, like you go through phases, and then I have, so amazing. Oh, so like, for 6 years, I was getting my hair done by my hairdresser and I've just been so, so busy and L'Oreal sent me some hair dye, I don't know, like 5 months ago and it was a healthy look and I was like, I don't want dye, right? And I loved it.

It washes for 28 times so I go to my hairdresser after but then, I loved it but recently, like, my mom did it again for me and I like this color, it's great.

-It's different, right? It's not--

-It' like brown.

-Yeah.

-Yeah.

-It's pretty.

-I wish they have black though, but, yes. So, I'm like, I'm obsessed with [unk] dye 'cause I mean, it sits on your hair after 10 minutes.

-Okay.

-Yeah, so, like, who knew, but whatever. Well, thank you so much.

-You're welcome.

-Thank you. It was so fun. I'm gonna fall.

-Yeah.

-Okay, there we go. And if you guys are interested in checking out the Vanity Girl, Vanity Girl Mirrors, you can check it out on Vanity Girl-- and then I will do like an official tutorial and then like official review on it so if you guys have any questions or anything, shoot us an e-mail, comments below and we will answer it and where are you going this Thursday?

-Oh, I've gotta get in line for the Oscars.

-Oh.

-Yeah, so that will be at the Lux Hotel in Beverly Hills.

-And you're gonna blog that, right?

-Yeah, blog and then hopefully we'll have some video, yeah.

-Okay, and where can we find that?

-on [unk] so check that out.

-Thank you so much, Maxine. See you guys later. Bye.

-Bye.
