-Hey there! Elessa here for pursebuzz. Today, I'm gonna show how to create a really simple look. This is inspired by Mila Kunis' latest walk on the red carpet for the Golden Globe Awards 2011. She has this really pretty green dress on and she has this great French twist. It's like huge. It's fun. It's very relaxed yet very sophisticated at the same time. So let me show you how to do that right now.
So the first thing you're gonna do is you wanna curl the ends of your hair. I'm gonna actually use hot rollers 'coz it's the quickest method for me, but you can just use any hot rollers that you want. What you wanna do is create a little bit of a loose kind of a wavy texture and then you're gonna run your fingers through it. You're gonna brush it up so it gives you- so can give you that volume. I'm gonna be using my Remington hot rollers. You can use whatever, like it's a curling iron that you want. And the greatest thing is that you don't have to be very specific about this. You could just curl wherever you want just to get those ends in your hair that nice voluminous texture.
As you can see, I'm just rolling up the ends right now and I'm separating the top part. I'm gonna do that last. I wanna get my hair some volume 'coz I'm going to have this big pouf on top. So you wanna give your hair a lot of oomph, but you don't really wanna spend too much time on it. So I'm gonna finish this up and I'll be right back. So this front part, I'm gonna do it in rows and let's start from the back here.
And remember to always use a heat protectant product for your hair. I'm just gonna put this. We're gonna have a couple of rows right here on the front. And you wanna skip that very first layer that's closest to your bangs because you don't want it kink or anything like that. So you're gonna roll that up and you're just gonna hold it just for a few seconds.
If you want, you can clip it. But I don't want to that. I just wanna a little bit of an N wave like that instead of like a stick straight style. Okay, I'm gonna let the rest of these cool off and I'll be right back. Okay, now, I'm gonna remove all the rollers. And again, there really isn't a special way to do this because we're gonna put this and we want to get that nice texture, not just like a slick flat hair. If you have curly hair, you don't have to do any of these. If you don't care, you don't have to do any of these.
But I like to do this because, one, it makes your hair just a little bit more polished when it's up. So the next thing I'm gonna do is I'm gonna create volume up here and I'm gonna do that by using some aerosol hairspray. I'm just gonna use my L'Oreal Elnett Satin and this is the extra strong hold. Now, you don't have to just tease you hair. You can actually use like extensions inside here to make it really fluffy, but I'm gonna use this. So, I'm gonna use my boar bristle brush [unk] and I'm gonna backcomb.
And when you use the boar bristle brush, it gets a little crazy. You can see so. That's why I don't use it too much because your hair just gets so big. It's like you're in a beauty pageant and you can see that little pouf in the front kinda forming and hers is kinda full. So, again, I recommend using some extensions if you want. Really get down to the roots too 'coz that's what's gonna get you your big volume. When you're teasing, you wanna concentrate on the side as well because her-
because her pouf isn't just like in the front. It's also kinda gathers to the side too, so you wanna make sure that you have that and I'm just gonna let naturally fall back and then I'm gonna pouf it out, and I'm gonna secure it back here with the bobby pin. And I'm gonna create an X, but I wanna make sure that it's not going anywhere. And now, that you have this loose pouf, what you're gonna do is you're gonna take your hair back here and you're gonna create a French Twist. So pull it all the way down the nape of your neck and you're gonna twist.
And you're gonna make a smooth twist. So as you're doing this, you're twisting and you're pulling and you're combing this all the way over. And so, when your hair is curly, your- my hair at least really cooperates with this. If not, it won't cooperate. So, you're gonna work on this. You're gonna make it nice and smooth. But you still wanna make sure that you have this pouf up here which you can always fix it later to shape it. Just make sure it's not cony head style.
Now, if you feel like your French Twist isn't smooth enough, what you're gonna do is take your bobby pin and you're gonna wrap it all the way over. So you take your bobby pin and you're gonna wrap it all the way over and that's what's gonna give it that nice smooth effect. Take it and wrap it all the way over. And now, you have the finished look. You could see it kinda loose on the top and the front, but it's still pulled back with little bit of pouf.
Now, if your hair is a little bit frizzy and you want to stop that, I really recommend, this is the Porosity The Fix from White Sands. I really like this stuff. It's great for sealing the hair. It's almost like a primer for your hair. So it's great. Now, if you have like little frizzies and flyaways, I recommend using a little bit of this. You can spray it in your hand and kinda just go over everything if you'd like. Now, if you need a hairspray, I recommend using something that's really gonna hold in it place all the day especially if you're only using a couple of bobby pins like I am.
So just one quick spray and you're good to go. Thanks so much for subscribing and I'll see you guys next time here on pursebuzz. Bye.
