Lemons

Why They're Healthy:

-- Just one lemon has more than 100 percent of your daily intake of vitamin C, which may help increase "good" HDL cholesterol levels and strengthen bones.

-- Citrus flavonoids found in lemons may help inhibit the growth of cancer cells and act as an anti-inflammatory.

Quick Tip:

Add a slice of lemon to your green tea. One study found that citrus increases your body's ability to absorb the antioxidants in the tea by about 80 percent.

Lemons are the WORST!! I can't have that sour taste after my accident. It's not only lemons; it's tomatoes, green apples, grapefruit, oranges, some strawberries, etc. Limes are OK, can I do limes?

THis is awesome!!! Our family has been on a mission to really eat whole and healthy foods and minimize the processed stuff soooo much! I have a mom blog smilinggreenmom.com all about living green and healthy. We really prefer to eat fruits, veggies and whole grains especially things like Kamut Khorasan Wheat, Quinoa, Couscous etc. These kinds of foods and the ones you mention are all so good for our entire body. I love seeing our kids prefer these foods too! Thanks for this great summary :)
