I generally make this every morning with a few strawberries, 1 banana and glass of water with wheatgrass. The milk is not necessary.

We use the unsweetened almond milk, add 1/2 cup frozen strawberries and a scoop of whey protein. The drink is a great way to start the day for about 200 calories. I'm full until lunchtime!

I think a lot of these smoothies can be made with less milk (or milk substitute, such as soy or almond milk) and more water. Use a lot of ice to keep the thickness.

I also use yogurt but I use a low fat-low carb yogurt to keep it healther and lowfat as these things can get pretty high in carbs.

I made this for breakfast this morning and it was fantastic. I used nonfat plain yogurt instead and added about 1/4 cup skim milk and some honey. It was very satisfying!
