Which Hair Styling Product Is Best in the Morning?

Gel, hairspray, mousse -- oh my! With so many products on the shelves these days, it's hard to guess what will work best in the morning for your hair. Here, Tresemme stylist Nathaniel Hawkins helps you narrow down the countless choices.

Question: "What's the best product to use to style my hair in the a.m.? Gel, styling cream, or hairspray?"

Answer: Ah...so many hair products, so much confusion. For best results, brush a dime-size drop of a lightweight styling cream through damp locks. "Most contain a small amount of silicone to smooth the hair shaft, which will leave you with a polished look regardless of your hair type," says Nathaniel Hawkins, celebrity stylist for Tresemme. Gels are a good option if you have very coarse or curly hair.

Hairspray, however, is best left for restyling dry hair, such as when you're transitioning from the office to a big night out.
