I’m so proud of our summer beauty intern (and current blogger!) Catherine O’Neill: She’s a finalist in a monthly contest called “Stila Girl of the Month.” See her story below and vote for her here.
Why I should be the next Stila Girl of the Month:
Stila made me fearless! After 6 years of braces (and headgear!), I can now sweep on Raspberry Crush Lip Stain with confidence. Thanks for putting the power in my pout! Stila isn’t just a line of products — it’s an attitude. Thanks for helping me embrace my very best self, Stila!
My Signature Stila Look:
I ALWAYS have Stila on my lips! For a fearless look, I reach for Raspberry Crush Lip Stain. When I’m feeling more flirty, it’s all about Long Wear Liquid Lip Color in Petal. And I won’t leave the house without my Lip Glaze in Honeydew. From their One Step Foundation to their gorgeous eyeshadow palettes (Smoky Eye original for me!), Stila is my go-to for creating a look that transforms me into the fun, fearless girl I’m meant to be.

We give ourselves an at-home pedicure once a week, and would be lost without CND SolarSpeed Spray. A spritz or two over our just-painted toes gives them shine and helps them dry fast. We even do another once-over before putting on shoes to be safe, and re-spritz throughout the week to add shine if the lacquer’s looking dull. Plus, like the original CND SolarOil, the formula contains (and smells of) nourishing sweet almond oil. Do you do your manicure/pedicure at home? If so, how do you speed up drying time?
We sat down with Dancing With the Stars host, Brooke Burke, to get tips for healthy, gorgeous hair. Here are her strand secrets:

We sat down with tennis champ and Mission Skincare co-founder Serena Williams to talk skincare, sports—and her favorite mascara. Here’s what she had to say:
Serena’s beauty must-haves:
Styling, weather conditions and color can all destroy hair’s health, stripping it of its natural shine and bounce. This past weekend I decided to take control of my lackluster locks, and restore life into them by trying some reparative treatments. I have thick, long hair, so I started with Pantene Pro-V Restore Beautiful Lengths Replenishing Mask. As directed, I combed the mask into my damp hair after shampooing, and left it on for five minutes before rinsing. I styled as usual and could not believe the improvement in the condition of my hair! My dry ends were finally smooth and shine was immediately restored.
I have naturally curly hair, but years of blow drying and flat ironing have transformed my curls into dull waves. Ouidad products are designed to feed and strengthen curls with essential nutrients, and the 12 Minute Deep-Treatment proved to do just that. I applied a palm-full of the product into my clean, damp hair and covered with a shower cap. I then applied heat to it with a blow dryer and left on for 12 minutes before rinsing. Once combed, my curls were restored. My hair was bouncy and voluminous, and my sad waves are now frizz-free spirals!
When looking for a fast way to improve your appearance, sometimes it’s best to just start from the top. What products have you used to improve your hair’s health? Would you try these treatments?

Fall is just around the corner, and that means dryer air—and skin. Time to bolster your defenses by making a few small tweaks to your body care routine. In the shower, switch to a creamy hydrating body wash, like Aveeno Positively Nourishing Hydrating Body Wash, which moisturizes as it cleanses.
When you step out, pat dry with a terrycloth towel. Patting dry, rather than vigorously rubbing, helps your skin retain more moisture. Then wrap your hair up in a terrycloth towel to keep it out of the way (and reduce drying time). Apply a thick lotion all over to lock in hydration, like Lubriderm Advanced Therapy Lotion. Extra credit: To get a subtle tan while you moisturize, try Jergens Natural Glow Express Body Lotion, which is laced with self-tanner that builds up over a few days. Sayonara, scaly skin!

Pixie cuts have been popping up all over Hollywood, on leading ladies like Emma Watson, Michelle Williams and Cate Blanchett. Thinking of making the cut? “A variety of face shapes can pull off this look,” says Clyde Elezi, owner of The Drawing Room NY. “But this cut looks best on women who have petite facial features.” Have you, or would you, try a cropped ‘do?
Happy Friday! I just came across this fun site that L’Oréal Paris is sponsoring on YouTube. This past summer, after what seemed to be endless trips to the nail salon, my manicurist pleaded for me to give a gel manicure a try. She guaranteed it would last two weeks, with no chips or scratches. I reluctantly agreed, and could not be more satisfied with my decision. After two weeks, my gel manicure was not only chip-free, but shiny as well. Although pricier than traditional manicures ($20 at my salon), the long-lasting results pay for themselves! It is recommended to have the gels soaked off by a nail professional during your next visit to the salon.
OPI Axxium is the most popular gel brand used in salons, and offers over 30 shade options. Just be sure to choose wisely; you’re going to be wearing the color for a while!
Have you tried a gel manicure? If so, what did you think of it?
