What's Your Skin's "Real" Age?

Here's a quick way to figure out which decade your skin is really in. Answer the quick questions in this quiz and get a customized plan for a younger-looking complexion that will set you back in years - in a good way!

Getting younger-looking skin doesn't have to be costly or a chore. By simply adding an extra step in your daily beauty regimen or by switching up your daily routine, you can add years (not to mention a healthy glow) to your complexion. These four skin tips will help get you started.

1. Monitor your skin's exposure to the sun. Whether powering through your daily run or working in the yard, protecting you skin from UV rays is critical since sun exposure is the leading cause of skin cancer and premature skin aging. Make sure you apply sunscreen 15 to 20 minutes before you go outside so you skin has a chance to absorb the ingredients.

2. Get plenty of Vitamin C. A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that women who have a lower intake of Vitamin C were more likely to have wrinkles than women who had higher intakes of the vitamin. Vitamin C is crucial for the production of collagen, which is the support structure of your skin.

3. Hit the gym! Working out is a great way to make your complexion more radiant. Not only does exercise send extra oxygen to your skin, but it also releases endorphins that ward off cell damage.

4. Rest up. Getting enough sleep is a key factor in achieving healthy skin. When you're tired, blood does not flow efficiently to your skin--which, in turn, results in a dull complexion. But when you're sleeping, your body produces the most melatonin, a hormone that's a skin-protecting antioxidant and aid in skin regeneration.

Dumb---I am 63, so of course, my score was 30 something. I took it again, not sure how the number of hours of sleep per night was supposed to be answered, and got the same answer each time. I am betting that there were only two results--under 30 and over 30.

The quiz was fine (though my score was terrible growing up in sunny FL) but I did not appreciate the advice to consider facial injections including Botox or corrective surgery. Fitness.com should not be offering this type of advice at all.
