You're Golden

Swipe a gloss in shimmery rose gold -- the must-have metal of the moment -- over your lips. We like Lorac Lip Lustre Gloss in 3D Lustre ($15, Extend the look to your tips by painting a pink-gold nail polish on your ring finger. Try Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Rose Moire ($27, Top it with texture using Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer in Baby I'm a Star ($29 for a set of three,, which has iridescent rose-gold flecks. Then brush an army-green polish, like Essie Nail Polish in Vested Interest ($9,, on your other nails for a tomboy contrast. The finishing touch: Trace the outer edges of two nails with nail glue, and using tweezers, top with tiny rose-gold beads, found in Ciate Caviar Luxe Pearls in Gleam ($25,, to create a framed effect.

A-List Accessory: Dress up any outfit with a detachable jeweled collar.

So Sophisticated

Slick on two coats of a high-shine black polish, like CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Black Diamond ($5, drugstores). Once your nails are dry, place a thin metallic strip -- go with Essence Nail Art Stickers in Just Magic ($2, -- across each nail a quarter of the way down, trimming the excess with scissors. On your index finger, stack two strips for variation. Lock everything in place with a clear topcoat. A creamy tomato-red lipstick completes the classic vibe. Our top tube pick: Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture in No. 50 Rouge Neon ($34,

A-List Accessory: If you have multiple piercings, stack blingy earrings; if you don't, use clip-ons or cuffs.

The Bright Stuff

Meet the happiest manicure ever. Instead of selecting just one color to rock at your next party, grab five and apply a different one to each nail, going from dark to light from pinky to thumb. For a grown-up take on this playful trend, keep four of them in the same family (reds and pinks, for example), then do one unexpected shade (like purple). Our lineup (on model, from top): Maybelline New York Color Show in Sapphire Siren ($4, drugstores), Clinique A Different Nail Enamel in 07 Red Red Red ($13,, OPI Nail Lacquer in Pompeii Purple ($9,, L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Nail in Members Only ($6, and Sally Hansen Triple Shine in Pixie Slicks ($5, drugstores). Nude lip color will balance the look. One that won't wash you out: Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Baby Pink ($25,

A-List Accessory: Showcase your mani candy with a clutch that has knuckle rings you can slip your fingers through.

Walk on the Wild Side

Sweep a nude polish, like Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in 142 Fluorescent Beige ($18,, onto your nails. Accent your index and middle fingers with feathers using the Ciate Feather Manicure Kit ($25, Brush on the topcoat included in the kit, then place a feather over it and gently press with your finger. Once it's dry, trim the feather so that it lines up with the tip of your nail. Finish with another layer of clear polish. Paint a thin line of brown metallic polish along the tips of your other nails. Try Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Facet ($17, On your lips, go for a vampy gloss, like Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Controversy ($34,

A-List Accessory: Slip on a bunch of delicate rings. Mixing metals with diamonds and wearing a few midi rings adds an edge.
