How many grams of fat should I be eating if I'm trying to loose weight?

Research suggests eating about 30-35% of total calories from fat is best for weight loss. So the number of grams would then be dependent on how many calories you're aiming for. The key, though, is to also focus on the type of fat vs. just the amount. Focus on healthy fats -- olive oil, avocado, fish and fish oil, are all great. Eat more of those and less saturated fats and trans fats.
