This Green Tea Smoothie Recipe Is the Perfect Kind of "Detox"

After a long weekend of overindulging, sometimes you just need a super-healthy breakfast to kick-start your week. This creamy smoothie—loaded with a delicious mix of good-for-you green ingredients including kale, avocado, and pear—is perfect for the job. Yes, it's super healthy, but with a touch of maple syrup and cayenne pepper you'll also get a sweet and spicy kick that makes drinking this smoothie far from a chore. Ingredients

  • 1 cup pear, chopped
  • 1/3 avocado, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups steeped green tea, frozen
  • 2/3 cup kale, packed
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper


Directions

1. Add green tea ice cubes and kale to the blender first, followed by the rest of the ingredients.

2. Blend until smooth and garnish with additional cayenne pepper.
