If you're looking for a charismatic personal trainer who knows how to turn into a drill sergeant the second it's time to work, look no further than Dolvett Quince. He makes up one-third of the trainer team on hit reality show The Biggest Loser, and now that we've met the man, we see why so many of the contestants love him. In NYC to promote Dr. Scholl's Active Series Insoles, Quince put us through a quickie circuit full of step-ups, squats and burpees, convincing us to keep pushing with his mega-watt smile shining after every set. We chatted with him in between gulps of water afterward to find out his favorite part of being on Loser.

Why did you choose the moves that you did for us in this workout?

Everything that I do is a combination movement. I love combinations. Why? Because I don’t have a lot of time. Most people that I train don’t have a lot of time. So what can I do to work the glutes, the legs, the shoulders and the core all at the same time? Do more than one movement in more than one way.

Do you like to do a lot of workouts just using body weight?

I love weights personally. Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t have them in their homes or offices. I like to show people they don’t need a gym or weights to get in a great workout. You can still do amazing things using just your body weight.

What are some of your favorite workouts personally?

The combination movements. I’m a huge fan of squats, lunges, core stuff, chest. I love doing both cardio and strength training every time I workout. Commit the same time frame – 10 minutes here, 8 minutes there – to maximize my time; maximize my results.

Motivation: Dolvett saying, "Reach up and touch my hands." (Photo courtesy of Insider Images/Andrew Kelly for Dr. Scholl's)

It’s bikini season.  How can we get that coveted flat belly?

I think a flat belly begins with the diet. The reason it’s key is because it’s from the inside out. It’s skin, fat, tissue, then muscle. So the diet is the closest thing to that muscle. So get those vegetables in your body. Eat like you’re on an island. If you do that, you’re probably going to do that a lot differently than you would otherwise.

How do you like being on The Biggest Loser?

I love my job. I love training; I love helping people believe in themselves. So that’s the best part of my job.

Have you had a favorite contestant so far?

Every season I have a favorite contestant. For the last one, season 14, my favorite would probably have to be Lisa. She got it. She was dialed in. From the moment she stepped foot on the ranch she was like, “I’m going to give you 150% of what I am and what I want to be.” That said, she went home, unfortunately, but her husband lost 75 pounds. Her mom lost 40 pounds. Her kids lost weight. She was dialed in. So it wasn’t about being co-dependent on Dolvett, The Biggest Loser, the television, the screen.  She was dependent on herself. And she was an inspiration to her entire family.

How important do you think it is to have your family’s support if you’re trying to lose a lot of weight like that?

Support system is everything. Everything. If your wife or husband will join you, then that gives you motivation because now both of you are like, “Honey, let’s get out of bed and do this.” That support system is everything. Best friends, co-workers. If you know you have an appointment to go meet your girlfriend for a drink, you’re excited for that. That’s the same excitement you should have when it’s time to work out. You’ll probably go if you knew someone else was holding you accountable, you know? Accountability is everything.

Tell us a bit about these insoles.

I’m so excited for everyone to know about the Active Series.  The same way you would buy a posturepedic mattress so you can protect your back and sleep better, the same thing happens when you put these in your shoe. You’re protecting the heel, the arch, as well as the bulk of your feet. So when you’re out running or doing a really active workout, you need to make sure you have the protection. It’s a great product.

Now you tell us: If you could work out with any of The Biggest Loser trainers, who would you choose?
