Anti-Aging Yogurt Scrub
This scrub is packed with rejuvenating ingredients that Dr. Rachael Eckel, dermatologist at ZO Skin Health, says reduce redness, minimize pores and improve wrinkles.
- ½ cup organic plain yogurt
- ¼ cup oatmeal
- 1 small-to-medium-size carrot, finely grated
- 2 vitamin E capsules
Once the yogurt, oatmeal and grated carrot are mixed together, poke the end of the vitamin E capsules and squeeze the oils into the mixture. Rub this scrub on the face for 60 seconds or leave it on as a mask for 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.
Bubblegum Lip Scrub
Here’s a scrub for soft, kissable lips. Eckel says to leave this scrub on the lips for five minutes for a lasting rosy hue.
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1/3 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1/3 teaspoon. strawberry extract
- 2-3 drops rose pink food coloring
Stir white sugar, olive oil, strawberry extract and pink food coloring together. Eckel says if the final consistency is too oily, add more sugar, and if too dry, add more oil. Massage on lips for one minute twice a week.
Acne Face Scrub
Eckel says aspirin is outstanding at drying up blemishes because it contains salicylic acid and witch hazel, which work together to tighten pores and wick away oil.
- 5 uncoated aspirin tablets
- 1 teaspoon witch hazel
- 1 teaspoon honey
Crush the aspirin tablets in the witch hazel and then combine those two ingredients with honey. Organic plain yogurt can be substituted for the honey if you are looking for more exfoliation.
