2 leg, leg lifts have long been listed by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a dangerous exercise. If one does not have enough abdominal strength to stabilize the pelvis while doing this exercise, the hip flexors (Psoas muscle) pulls the spine into extension which can cause an injury to the facet joints of the spine. This exercise should be done 1 leg at a time for safety of persons with minimal abdominal strength.
