Health Education
Girls on the RunGirls on the Run is an international nonprofit organization that provides localized health education and wellness programs to girls ages 8 to 12. During the 10-week program, participants train for a 3.1-mile run/walk event while taking team-building and self-esteem enhancing lessons that encourage healthy habits and an active lifestyle for girls. Girls learn to stretch themselves -- physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally -- and in the process are inspired to a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Each local chapter of Girls on the Run hosts two runs each year.
