Rebecca Reveals...

The secret to a killer workout: "For cardio, you have to have good music. I love being on the elliptical and playing my music loud enough that I can't hear myself breathing. If you hear how heavily you're breathing, you won't push yourself to go harder."

My worst excuse: "I used to blame my clumsiness on being tall, but now I realize I was clumsy because I wasn't strong. Today I see a huge difference in my balance."

If I didn't work out: "I'd be a depressed, miserable person."

Why I'll never pose for Playboy, no matter how many times they ask me: "I don't want to dis the magazine or the beautiful women in it -- some of whom are my friends -- but I would never do it. And now that I'm a mom of two girls, I definitely would never go that route. Maybe it's the turtleneck and long johns-wearing girl in me who likes to be covered up, but I'll always say no!"

why do we celebrate obsessive weightloss? You lose weight; then what? There is more to a meaningful life. Her weightloss style was inconsistent with long term good health. I would have been impressed if she had said, 'I exercise with various cardio, strength training, and stretching tactics. I feed myself and family with healthy, balanced food for long term good habits. I'm not starving my body and brain. I'm not obsessing with disordered eating. My children have a mother who respects herself."

While I admire her resolve and the hard work it took to lose the weight I echo the dissappointment expressed by another in regards to her extreme diet. One need not eliminate entire food groups (red meat, dairy, starches and fats) in order to lose weight, and certainly that is no way to be healthy over the long haul.

This inspires me! I had twins at age 36 (17 months ago) and am struggling to lose the weight. I have older kids and the weight wasn't as hard to lose (I was younger, but gained as much w/ the pregnancy). I am happy to see someone else win the battle!!! I know how hard she had to work to lose the weight & look forward to trimming down the last 40 pounds myself!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved this article ! Thank you for sharing Rebecca's story. It's nice to know the beautiful people struggle with real issues like losing weight like the rest of us. I found her story very inspiring. I can relate to eating with a husband that likes wine and dessert.

Rebecca looks amazing, but to be honest, I was very disappointed to read about her diet. Basically, all she eats is lean meat and salad greens? The human body does need some fats for proper function. I hope that this isn't accurate. I wouldn't want my teenage daughter to think that this is acceptable. Otherwise, I applaud her commitment to exercise and to reevaluating portion sizes (as we all know that a lot of people go overboard with portion sizes).
