This article bothers me as she makes it seem like you need to spend thousands of dollars to do a triathlon. Most people cannot afford a $2700 bike, $190 bike shoes, $400 wetsuit AND a swim coach. A couple years ago, I did my first sprint tri and there were plenty of people out there just like me that didn't have fancy equipment and just did it to challenge themselves.
