Make sure you're fueling up with the right foods. Protein is an important nutrient for maintaining healthy bones and building lean muscle. And a great source is Greek yogurt. It has more than twice the amount of protein of regular yogurt. Add some fresh berries for perfect pre-workout snack. Here are some other combos to get you fueled up before a workout, an apple and a handful of almonds. The apples got fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. And almonds have some fat and protein to keep you going while you work. A little bit of turkey and a small bunch of grapes are also great pre-workout snack. It's got just the right mix of protein carbs and it's low-cal. Or some celery with almond butter or peanut butter gives you protein and fat for energy during your workout. Just as important is what you have after workout to help repair muscle tissue and replenish glycogen stores like that in stores. It's all about a combo of carbs and protein. Have protein shake with a banana. A little hummus and pita is another great carb/protein combo. Or if you want something a little more filling, try tuna on whole wheat bread. All these foods will help do your workout and your recovery to keep you going strong.
