Hello, I'm Dawn Jackson Blatner, registered dietitian with Fitness Magazine, and I'm here at Stop & Shop in Union, New Jersey in the fruit section of the grocery store. We all need to treat ourselves every once in awhile, and treats? They don't have a lot of nutrition, but they sure do taste great. So, when you're thinking about treating yourself, hit the calories to about 150 calories a day, and they do have these 100 calorie-packs that the portioning is done for you. So those are good options. But if you're somebody who can really portion out of a large package, definitely think about doing better-for-you options. A better-for-you option would be something like no artificial colors or flavors, no high-fructose corn syrup, or no hydrogenated oils. I even found a cookie that the first ingredient is whole grains. Now that is a better-for-you treat.
