descriptionModeled after Amanda Bynes hair in Hairspray.. with some tweaking :P Pursebuzz.com
-Hi, welcome to pursebuzz.com. Today, I'm gonna show you a really cute big poof on top and little pigtails on the side. Very first thing is you'll need to have some hairspray. It'll have to be like an aerosol can hairspray, just in order for you to get that big poof on top. The hairspray that I'm going to be using
is this Big Sexy Hair Spray. I don't recommend it if you have dark hair 'cause you'll get flakes and you can see it. I've mentioned this before but I'm just trying to use this can in order for me to buy something else, and I'm probably going to be trying something from Joico. I really enjoy their deep conditioning product. So, I'm gonna give that and try. I'll talk about that later. Okay. So, what you're gonna do is just spray all over your hair with the aerosol spray. Get that nice, like, dry-ish texture, I guess you can say.
You're gonna have to give it a tease. And then, kind of part your hair to the side and take your 1-1/4 inch or 1-1/2 or just a bigger curling iron. And you're going to run it through your hair, almost like a straight iron but not quite. Helen of Troy from Sally Beauty Supply, but I also really like the Hot Tools one. Next, you're going to take your rattail comb,
and you're gonna divide your hair. So, what I'm gonna do is have a small section in front that I'm just gonna leave like that, and I'm going to take this middle portion right here, and this is where I'm going to poof up like that. So, once you've divided that front part, or however you want it.
Doesn't have to be perfect; we're not working on that part yet. Divide your hair down the middle and take that comb, take a chunk from the back, give it a nice spray, distribute that hairspray. It doesn't have to be all over, just probably this much of your hair. Take your quarter of an inch, give it a little
curl, and you kinda get a little poof going like that. And you're gonna take your rattail comb and you're gonna tease the back side. When I curl it, I don't have to tease it as much. Okay. Then do it again. I'm gonna keep doing it here. This----
This is kind of a hard one to do tutorial on, but, doing my best here. All right. Just kind of a play on to some of the ones I've already done. This is gonna be a little bit bigger.
Take some---- Tease it really good in the back, and smooth it out in the front kind of like that. Right. So, I think I've got a total of 3 of these poofs going. You wanna concentrate on your roots, too, with the spray. So if you have a root uplifter-type of a mousse, you can use that.
Just gonna tease it a little bit and then tease it real good in the back. And so I've got that poof going. Then, I'm going to take some bobby pins, take your rattail comb, can do this.
Make a flat line right here, and you're gonna go on the other side and do the same, make it even, like that. And you've got a little poof. You can also do that to different part. I know I've had some questions on how to do that.
So, you're gonna take that poof and you're gonna poof it up, kind of take some of the sides here to even it out, like that. Take your bobby pins and make a nice X in the back. You could put a pretty clip
if you want. I'm just gonna do this with the bobby pins. Then, I'm gonna spray it really good. So now that it's tight with just a bunch of bobby pins, I'm gonna work on the ends of my hair. Depending how much you want, you can curl them in. You can curl them out. You can do whatever.
I'm just gonna take my curling iron and I'm just gonna run it through the bottom and curl the ends, just kinda get a little, kind of a little wave going. I've got a mirror right here. That's what I'm looking at. 'Cause typically when I do my hair videos, I just look at the camera on the side and try to gauge what I'm doing, but, a little too hard to do with this video. Okay.
The next thing is the front part of your hair. You can braid it. You can do whatever you want. You can just leave it or do curls like that. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to pull them back. So, we're gonna divide this to a nice straight line, just like that. Spray it down.
I'm gonna put them behind my ear. Then, what I'm going to do is take my rattail comb, start right after that X that you have at your bobby pin. You can go all the way down and hope that it's straight. Just gonna pretend mine is. Okay. So now for your ponytail, you can either just leave it how it is or you can put some hairspray in it,
kinda just tease it out to get a little bit of a fluff going. So, I'm gonna do that to match the top part. This requires a lot of hairspray, little bit of a tease, not too much. Then I'm going to take some clear rubber bands (just preference), pull it back.
So I'm gonna kinda gauge it here. If I want it up here, then I want it down here, however you want it, do it loose, try to fluff it up. So in tying loose, I kinda pull it up and yank it out. We do that with the other side.
So, I can do a little loose one down here. Go like this and squeeze. And that's how you get kind of the little poofy pigtails, then you fix, just kinda brush everything together to make it mold as one. And if it's kind of, you know, not cooperating, you can always use bobby pins. I'm just gonna use 1 right here;
also hold your hair down much better. And for the front, since I don't have any actual clips, I'm just gonna use this little sun. Put another bobby pin back here to tighten up my little poof thing. And then one last time with that hairspray,
and that's how you create, I guess the, that movie Hairspary, how they have a little poof. You can have one, too. Not as big 'cause, I don't know, I just---- not something I want out and about 'cause somebody might wanna touch it and wonder I have---- what I have hiding under there. But anyway, thanks again for joining me here at pursebuzz.com, and don't forget to visit pursebuzz.com. Buh-bye!
