Hi there. Thanks for joining me here today at pursebuzz.com. Today, I'm going to be doing a product review and it's going to be the MAC Matte Squared. I'm gonna try to say that right. MAC Matte Squared Eyeshadows and I've been able to use it for about a week and I really like it. It's very highly pigmented. It is very matte, but it also looks really good on everybody. I think you just have to find the right combination for it so what I've done is I've used my Paint Bare Canvas

and I put it all over my hand and I let it dry so that way, it doesn't mix in with the shadows and gets all weird. Okay. So, I'm just gonna go and show you my colors and I'm gonna show you a couple of duplicates that I think would be close to the colors and then kinda show you the differences between the two, just so that you can decide whether or not you wanna get it so I guess I'll just start from this side. Okay. So, first thing is Copperplate and Copperplate is a neutral brown.

It doesn't have like an orange to it. It doesn't have like a blackish or green. It's just very neutral and it's really great if you want to create a crease with it and you can just blend it out with like a 224. Best brush for these is the 239. Like this. You can just kinda take it out and you pat it on and then you can blend it with like a 224, like the looser bristles, but if you wanna get that color intensity,

you wanna get a firm flat brush. Okay. So, let me show you what Copperplate looks like. It's like that right there. It's kind of like Symmetry. It's like a natural brown and you could just put that right here on the crease and blend it out with your highlighter and you're probably good to go if you just wanted to find that look and look really natural. And a good complimenting color with that is Handwritten. Handwritten is a rich chocolate brown and it's also matte. They're all matte.

So I'm gonna make sure I mentioned that, and it looks really good together, like as an outer corner along with Copperplate so let me show you alongside with Copper Plate what it looks like. And these are my two favorites. Oh. I like a lot of them but these two I really like and here's Handwritten and you can see, it's a really natural brown but it looks-- I think it will look good on everybody just because of the undertones of it.

It's not too-- I don't know. 'Cause it's hard for me to wear brown. There's just some browns where I'm just like, eeew, I just can't wear it and it makes me look so blah, but this one's really good. It's vibrant and it's got that nice kind of, I guess almost a maroon-reddish color so it really brings your eyes out. Okay. The next color is the Fig. 1 and Fig. 1 is very similar to the Smoke Signals pigments

so if you didn't get a chance to get that, you might wanna check this out. This looks good if you don't want like a black or brown but you want an everyday color. I'm gonna check this out. I'll show you. Looks like this. See that? So let me put that right next to Handwritten so you can see the difference between the two but you can also see how it could be an everyday color. It's like a matte eggplant. You can see that right there.

It's very pretty, and I can try to blend these in real quick together with my 252 brush. Oops, I messed it up, but you can see it right there, what it looks like and you can see the gradual differences between the three colors. And the next color here, it's called Flourishing and this is an Army green color. It's like a khaki--

it's like the camouflage clothing that you see. Really cool color. I know people are like what do you wear with that? You could put this with a pink. You can put this with Fig. That's really pretty. And you can do this combination right here. Just a little bit of a green, just a little puff of color. Especially if you're not used to wearing colors. This is really good 'cause it kinda gets you into that transition of starting to wear regular colors.

Don't do this when you're making over somebody. Don't blow on their face. So there's that green right there. It's very subtle but it's a nice green. This is really pretty for those with brown eyes and you can see the difference. That was applied with a 224 so let me clean this 252 up real quick and then you can see what it looks like. Pat it on.

There. So it's like a nice green. See how pretty that is? It's a very nice complimenting color if you want just a little pop of color. Good for the office. And the next color here is called Poison Pen and this looks like a bluish purple and grayish, kind of a theme going. It reminds me of the Flintstones vitamins, if you ever had those and there's kind of like a bluish purple.

That's what it reminds me of. The best thing is with matte eyeshadows is to take your brush after you've put some in here, then kind of rub it in the lid and just get all that pigment into your brush so it doesn't get all over the place. Here we go. Okay. So that's kind of a bluish gray, purplish kind of a color. Again, these are really good for like the office. You know, you want a little bit of color but you don't wanna use the blacks and the browns everyday.

Something a little subtle. This is really nice. Something to compliment this I think would be Fig., very, and Pen 'n' Pink, something like that would be really nice and subtle. And these can really get intensified, too, if you use the right brush like the 239 and just pack it on and blend it out. These are really good for smoky eyes, too, and the next color, these are the last three that I have and these I have dupes for

or potential dupes for. So the first one is Newly Minted and this is what this looks like and if you have seen my photo of the day with the Alexander McQueen, this is what I used and right off the bat, you probably-- or I thought it looked real similar to Melody but holding it up close, not quite. This is a little bit more green, a little more like a bluish teal. So I'm gonna put it right next to each other so that you can see it.

This is Newly Minted and Melody right next to each other. You can see the two here. This is Newly Minted and this is Melody so it is a big difference once you put it on. This is a lot more green than Melody. So you can see that. This is Melody and this is Newly Minted and the next two colors, or the next color that I'm going to use

which I know a lot of people think it looks like Passionate. It's a little different. This is Passionate and this is Post Haste so I don't know if you can tell with the lighting or not so I'll just do a swatch so you guys can check it out. Just looking at the pot alone, Passionate is more pink, a little bit more vibrant and Post Haste is a little bit more of a muted reddish color.

Passionate right there and Post Haste is right here. So you can see the difference. This is a lot more red and this is pink and someone who doesn't wear any eyeshadow would probably like I can't tell but if you do wear eyeshadow and you actually get to see it side by side, there is a difference between the two. This is redder and more muted so if you're looking for a red eyeshadow from MAC, I definitely recommend Post Haste. Very cool. You can actually use it for like a little blush, too, just very lightly,

so like a pick-me-up color. And last but not least is Pen 'n' Pink and I wish you can see it looking like pink. I don't know why but I can't risk showing it off as white, and it's a very soft matte pink so if you like Sweet Lust, that light, light baby pink, then you will probably like this 'cause it's a MAC formula versus the Sweet Lust

and it's a frosty so let me try to put it side by side and see if you can tell the difference. Those are the two right there. I wish you can see it. That sucks, you really can't, but anyway, Pen 'n' Pink, great highlighter.

Really great for the inner corners, especially if you want like a soft pink to go with browns or blacks or even with your Post Haste. Very pretty. I think I wanna do my next look would be these three colors just because they're so girly, and that's it. That wraps up all the Matte Squares that I have. Thanks again for joining me here at pursebuzz.com and you guys have a good one. Buh-bye.
