Hi, there! Thanks for joining me here today at pursebuzz.com. Today, I'm gonna show you the Hot 'N Cold look by Katy Perry. I believe that's her latest video. So I'm gonna show you how to do the really thick eyeliner,
natural-colored eyes with a little bit of shimmer and her hot pink glitters. The very first thing you're gonna do is you're going to apply a concealer all over your lid and I'm going to be using my MAC Studio Finish and this is an NW20, and this is going to create a sticky base for my pigment. So I'm just gonna tap this on. You don't wanna use too much because you don't want it to crease but you want something that's gonna be a little sticky so you can use a pigment, a loose pigment and apply the color. Just like that. And the next thing I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take
MAC Pigment in Gold Mode and I'm gonna tap it on my lid. And this color is a really natural but yet shimmery color. It's good for everyday. That's really fun. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take my MAC 239. It's a flat brush and I'm just gonna press what I can into it from the lid and then I'm gonna press that on my lid. You're gonna put this all over your lid and you're just gonna actually use just one color
for your entire lid. So we're just gonna tap this on. Now what you're gonna do is you're gonna open your eye and see where that color ends and you only want it to be just a little bit. You don't want it to be too close to your brow bone. So I'm gonna tap that color and then you can see that there's just a slight bit of color but will really gonna emphasize the eyeliner for this look. Okay. Now, what you're gonna do is you're just gonna wet your brush just a little bit and you're gonna dip it in and you're gonna make this shine
just a little bit more, enhance that little shimmer. So I'm just gonna pat that in, concentrating in the middle 'cause that's where I want it to really shine. And now if this isn't shiny enough, well, you can always add a little bit of glitter or a little bit of MAC Reflects Glitter, and I have that right here. And since my brush is just a little bit wet with my Clinique spray, I can add a little bit, and this is antique gold. 'Cause in the video you can't really tell if it's silver or if it's gold
so we're just gonna use a color right in the middle, so it's just completely optional. And you're just gonna pat that in and it's gonna give you that extra little shimmer. Now this is very subtle. It's very, very small pieces of glitter where if you rub it really well, it's just gonna blend in like a regular---- I got cream shadow almost. So I'm just gonna dry that in. Okay. The next thing we're gonna do is we're gonna use a very
natural color for your brow bone, any color that you have that matches your skin tone will work. So what I'm gonna be using is my next color in nude. I'm just gonna flip that brush over, then I'm gonna tap it on and it'll pretty much blend together as you apply it. The pigment is really easy to blend and then the next nude color is also really easy to blend. So, we're just gonna blend, blend, just like that.
Then next, we're gonna apply our eyeliner. So what I'm gonna be using is Stila's eyeliner in Topaz which is a natural color and that's gonna brighten my eyes and make it a little bit wide-eyed. So I'm gonna do that with my waterline and we're gonna do that on the top and the bottom. Okay. So we're almost done. Next thing is our eyeliner. So I like to use a liquid liner for this look. It's actually going to be the NYX Felt Tip Liner 'cause this is really easy to use 'cause you can see it's going to be thinner and gradually it's gonna get really thick.
So it doesn't really matter what it looks like when your eyes are closed but you're more---- you're gonna want it to look thicker on the outside and thinner on the inside when your eyes open. So first thing is I'm just gonna apply one thin line first, create a baseline. So I'm gonna
apply it in small strokes. So just depending on how your eyes, you may have to thicken the line or thin it out a bit. See, my lid here kind of tends to swallow up that line so it looks a little bit thicker but then when I open my eye, it's much thinner. Okay. The next thing you're gonna do is you're gonna create that little flick at the end and what you wanna do is open your eye and put a dot where you want that line to be. The reason why I'm doing this is 'cause if I close it,
then I'm gonna wanna draw it down here and it's gonna make me look really sad. And then we're gonna connect it. You can fill it in later and make sure that it's all even. Right now, you just want that stencil, the outline of it.
Once you have good guidelines just like right here, my guideline---- I just need to straighten this up just a little bit---- you could start filling it in. So I'm gonna do that right now. And see when it's open, it's kind of forming that thicker line and then the thinner line on the inside. You know, depending on your point here, you can extend it a little more or you can keep it. I'm just gonna work on my little point right here,
make it a little bit pointier, just like that. Perfect! And then I'm gonna put my mascara on and you're almost good to go. For this look, it's a lot, a lot of lashes. So I'm gonna use my primer on the top and the bottom. And this Clinique one is called Power Lashes, a really, a really small brush. And it's gonna really get these bottom lashes here. Get your eyeliner. You can go right back in and put in another coat.
And then for the top, I'm gonna use my Dior Iconic because it's really dark. For your eyebrows, it's a little bit tricky but what you wanna do is to create an illusion that you have really high-arched eyebrow. So what you're gonna do is you're gonna take a dark, dark eyeshadow, a dark brown and you're gonna start in the middle and you're just going to create the illusion that you have thinner brows.
So how are you gonna do that? Is you're just going to apply a dark eyeshadow in the middle of your eyebrow, just like this. So it's really just going to bring out the thin middle, center, core of your eyebrow then you're gonna wipe that down and you're going to apply a really light color. So here, I'm just using Showstopper. It's a brown eyeshadow, then I'm gonna be using my Anastasia Medium Brown shadow here and it's a little bit lighter.
So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna fill out the outer part. So I'm really getting all of my eyebrows filled in, but the concentration is going to be that center part where it's really dark. And this is just my MAC 266. So you're gonna brush this part up, this part over, and then this part downward. Okay. So the next thing you're gonna do is you're gonna apply your
moisturizer that you normally do and so I've already done that and then I'm gonna spray---- this is my little mini-badger brush here with my Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray. I'm just spray that right on my brush here. And the reason why I'm doing that is because I'm going to be using a powder foundation and sometimes it makes your skin look really dry. So I need a little bit of that extra moisture to really help even out and help distribute the powder throughout my face, you know, evenly and smoothly. And so the foundation that I'm gonna be using is
DiorSkin. So I'm just gonna take a little bit and I'm gonna put that on my face. And the reason I'm using this badger brush is that it's gonna give you a full coverage and that's what I'm looking for 'cause I wanna get that really flawless look. So I just put a little bit on my lid, put a little bit on my brush and then just start distributing. This is super simple. It should take you not even 5 minutes
to apply your foundation. And you could see my skin is already evened out and the color is really satiny and smooth, which is what we're going for. I'm also going to concentrate and put just a little bit right here on my lips 'cause I'm gonna go for really dark hot pink, and so I wanna make sure that it stays on my lips and not, you know, bleed or get air feather. The next thing I'm gonna do is now I'm gonna line my lips.
I'm gonna be using my Clinique Pomegranate Lip Liner. I'm gonna need a mirror for this so I can get that really precise lips. Let's go see it. What I really wanna concentrate on is the outer line of my lips. It doesn't have to be a solid line, you know. We can kind of start filling it out like this and then the lipstick is going to cover it and then the
Cupid's bow. Make sure that's even. Now if you want long-lasting color, if you wanna change the color of your lips, fill it in with your lip liner. Now I'm going to be using---- this is my hot pink that I was talking about, here. This is a MAC Pro Colour and this is called Show Orchid. So I'm just gonna take my brush and I'm gonna apply it to my lips.
I'm just gonna get the color on and then we'll distribute it. Now this is a great holiday look. And since using lipstick, you know, in the wintertime sometimes could be a little drying and it creates these little fine lines in your lips, what you can do is use a lip plumping product. So I'm gonna be using LipFusion. It's like this and it's a fun
lip-plumping product. Actually, I think it works over time so you're not gonna see an actual huge difference right away but you will see it over time. So I'm just gonna take a little bit of that and I'm gonna apply it right on top. And what that's gonna do is it's going to help really fill in those fine lines, help plump up my lips and so you don't look like your lips are chapped, you know, and then it will also plump up your lips. And then over time, you'll have really nice lush lips. Of course, you're not talking fully collagen injections
but, you know, close enough. And the reason why I'm not just dipping this thing on my lips is because I'm using a really dark color and I don't wanna put that into the tube of lip gloss. And this does tingle. Actually, if you're not used to it, it's gonna be a little bit of an adjustment.
Smells good though. So for my cheeks, I'm not really doing anything too dramatic, not too noticeable, so what I'm gonna use is Rose Hue. It's a mineral blush. And I'm just gonna take whatever is in the lid 'cause there's a whole lot of this stuff. And, since I'm trying to conserve brushes here, I'm gonna use this. What I'm gonna do is to slightly dip it. Since there's a whole bunch, you're gonna tap it, make sure pretty much all of it is off. This is such a nice little
innocent rosy pink. I'm gonna dab a little here and a little here and then I'm gonna buff it out and it's just gonna give me this nice little pink glow, but it's not gonna really take away from my dark lips and intense eyeliner. this nice little pink innocent mist to it. Okay. Now, I'm gonna contour my cheeks. I'm gonna use my Coastal Scents Contouring Palette here and everyone has been asking about it.
So since I'm going for something really subtle, I'm gonna take---- this is my MAC fan brush. You could take another fan brush and I'm just gonna lightly tap it into this brown right here and right here at the ear. I'm just gonna apply just a small bit. I'm gonna go in a little zigzag fluffing motion 'cause we want it to be just a hint of contour, nothing too dramatic, right beneath the brow bone. You're gonna blend
it in. And since we're using a fan brush, it's only picking up just a touch of it. If you have a good darker powder that you use in the summertime or you bought the wrong color, now is the good time to start taking it out and using it as a contour. Contour your nose if you want, you know, the whole nine yards, whatever. A little bit here, whatever. Whatever you want. And there you have it, your Hot 'N Cold look. Thanks again for joining me at pursebuzz.com. Bye-bye.
