" So you wanna visit Florida's great outdoors, but also wanna bring with you the comforts of home?"

" We used to stay in hotels and we just didn't like sleeping where somebody else had slept. There's just something different about having what's yours and coming and taking it along with you."

" Hi! I'm Kevin Mims! Visit Florida's Outdoors and Nature Expert. We're here to show how to do a little RV camping."

" These days, camping is a -- can spoil you. We can do anything anywhere we wanna go. You know, RV-ing is the best opportunity with the family, like we have, to come out and hang out for the weekend."

" So I'm here with Rob Rothenhausler. He's got nice camp for us to check out. What's good about RV camping versus just regular tent camping?"

" Well, with an RV, you have a lot of features that you would have in your own home such as air conditioner for one, shower, bathroom facilities, a lot of them equipped with TVs, microwaves."

" Yeah, instead of cooking over the open fire, you can come in here and cook on a 3-burner gas range here. Or, if you still wanna grill out, that's equipped with a gas grill right outside. It's fully capable of setting up somewhere with no electric or water, and it's got its own source of power and water."

" There's an RV to fit everybody's budget, family size. There are just so many different options for people. It's really a really neat, inexpensive way to keep your family close together and really do some things together that you really don't get an opportunity to do so much these days. And it's really just a nice, nice way of taking a family vacation."

" Hi, and welcome to Anastasia State Park. We're located in Saint Augustine, Florida, and this is our beautiful estuary. "

" Can you kinda tell us about what the RV campers are saying when they come out?"

" They absolutely love it. I think they'd like to if we have more sites for them so more people can come. Well, we have 4 miles of beach, pristine. You're not gonna worry about traffic or anything like that, so it's beautiful to swim."

" We like it. It's so close to the beach and it's so relaxing. It's quiet."

" I love the fact that we got a 20-minute walk to the ocean, get some good exercise and hang out on the beach for a few minutes, let Ridge run around and just have the best time of our life."

" You can either surf fish or you can come out here to our beautiful estuary. It's just a great place to be. We also have canoeing, kayaking. The whole entire park is a beautiful bike ride. We also have Fort Mose which is out north of town. Bird people, this is an awesome place to come to go look for birds. We have thousands of different birds that are in and out of this park daily."

" It's just primitive, but still a nice park, and there's just so much to do."

" We are located 2 miles away from downtown historic Saint Augustine. It's a great bike ride."

" So it's absolutely an incredible 2-day vacation for us and certainly gonna continue doing this in the future. I think everybody should try it at least once."

" This is the real Florida. It's absolutely the real Florida. You can see the entire state in a period of a week or two, or you can take a month or two for that matter, but it's a nice way to be able to just touch a lot of different spots."

" Home away from home."

" RV camping is incredible. You get back to nature."

" We just love it."

We're gonna ride the Caladesi Connection, which provides ferry service from Honeymoon Island to Caladesi . We took a 20-minute ride over to the bay side of Caladesi Island. And we docked at the marina and now we're gonna walk across to the beach. There's 3 miles of undeveloped beaches. There's a nature trail. There's a snack bar . There's kayak rentals. Lots of stuff to do here and we're gonna check it all out and have a great time today.
best opportunities to get away from it all. Today, we're gonna explore Caladesi Island State Park and Honeymoon Island State Park. Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands used to be 1 island until a 1921 hurricane split it in two. So now, we have Honeymoon Island State Park to the north and Caladesi Island State Park to the south. of people don't take the time to explore the inland part of Caladesi Island. We have 650 upland acres, about 1800 submerged acres, submerged meaning mangrove forests and grass-flats. We have a 3-mile nature trail, which is what we're hiking on right now. And as you go along, you'll see that the terrain kind of rolling and undulating and that's because those are ancient dune lines, some of them going back thousands of years.
Well, I'm paddling though the mangrove tunnels here on Caladesi Island State Park. The mangroves grow very densely here along the bay and they provide a very quiet canoe trail and it's
