If you have nut allergies, try these easy-to-find replacements and you'll get all the healthy fats that are in diet-friendly nuts.
Question: "A lot of diets advise snacking on nuts, but I'm allergic. Are there any good substitutes?"

Answer: Four Great Foods to Try

  • Olives (eight large)
  • Avocado (two tablespoons)
  • Pumpkin seeds (one tablespoon)
  • Sunflower seeds (one tablespoon)

All are good healthy-fat nut replacements. Each serving has about 5 grams of unsaturated fat and 45 calories. Protein- and fiber-packed roasted soybeans or dried plums are also good portable substitutes.
