Quick Kebab Recipes for the Grill

What's not to love about food on sticks with delicious dipping sauces? Learn how to make these kid-friendly kebabs and healthy dips.

Food on sticks and yummy dips -- there are few things children would rather eat more. Slide 1-1/2-inch chunks of chicken onto skewers and grill at 375 degrees F. for about 8 minutes. On the side, serve these healthy sauces created by chefs at Whole Foods Market.

Yogurt-Cucumber Dip (tzatziki)

1 large cucumber, peeled, seeded, and grated

1 teaspoon salt

14 ounces Greek-style yogurt

1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon white-wine vinegar

In a bowl, sprinkle cucumber with salt; refrigerate 15 minutes. Drain excess water; stir in remaining ingredients. Refrigerate for several hours.

Salsa Fresca

1 pound ripe tomatoes, seeded and diced

1/3 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro

2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Toss ingredients in a nonmetallic bowl; mix well.

Sesame-Honey Mustard Sauce

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup mustard (any kind)

1/2 cup fat-free mayonnaise

2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted

Combine all ingredients in a bowl; mix well.
