Marinated Garden Lentil Salad Pita

  • 1/2 cup  canned lentils, rinsed and drained
  • 1/4 cup  chopped carrots
  • 1/4 cup  chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup  chopped red bell pepper
  • 3 tablespoons  light Italian salad dressing
  • 1 whole-wheat pita pocket (61/2-inch), cut in half


Make it:

1. Combine lentils, carrots, celery and pepper with salad dressing. Fill pita with mixture.

How about some low-sodium recipes, too? This recipe as-is has somewhere in the 1200-1400mg sodium per serving - that's at least HALF of your recommended DAILY intake in one meal - how is that any healthier than a fast food sandwich? And why is sodium not listed in the nutrition facts you provide?
