Maple-Ginger Apple Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4  small McIntosh apples, peeled, cored and cut into eighths
  • 1/4  cup water
  • 2  tbs. maple syrup
  • 4  quarter-size slices fresh ginger

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan; cover and bring to a simmer. Cook about 20 minutes, or until apples can be easily mashed. Let cool slightly; discard ginger. Mash apples with a fork; serve. (Can be refrigerated for up to 5 days.)
