The Real Elisabeth

For our June issue, The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck (you may also recognize her from Survivor circa 2001) shared how she got her rockin' body back in just weeks after having baby #2. At our cover shoot, we had the pleasure of meeting the real Elisabeth -- an incredibly driven, health-minded woman with an ultra-sweet personality and a wicked sense of humor. Here, we take you backstage to meet our June Mind, Body, Spirit Superstar.

Hair & Makeup

Elisabeth was all smiles backstage as she talked about her kids, calling being a mom of two her "proudest achievement." She joked about the nasty bruise on her leg she'd received that morning, just minutes before leaving for our shoot, when she'd banged her leg racing to the bathtub when she'd heard her daughter yelling "Mommy!" as she prepared to leave. Turns out her little girl just wanted to show Elisabeth that she could swim like a mermaid.

Hair & Makeup

We asked Elisabeth to write down a few of the things she was most proud of since completing her fitness makeover. Some of the messages she wrote included "I Finally Took Time for Myself" and a quote from her daughter: "My Mommy Is Strong."

Hair & Makeup

Elisabeth arrived on set wearing a pink puffy vest and blue jeans, showing her definite girly-girl side. She admitted to loving headscarves and headbands and anything else preppy, but don't kid yourself -- we learned that she's got a rockin' body under those filly frocks.

The Bikini Shoot

Though it felt a little funny to be trying on bikinis on one of the coldest days in NYC, Elisabeth fell in love with the blue Haverhill bikini from our cover shot.

The Bikini Shoot

Elisabeth worked hard for her stellar post-baby bod, and wanted everyone to know it! "The night before my photo shoot," she said, "I wrote thank-you notes to everyone at [my gym] La Palestra who helped me reach this point. I feel amazing."

The Bikini Shoot

Elisabeth has been active nearly all her life, from when she was a little girl growing up in Rhode Island to her softball-playing days in college. Though her initial goal was getting in shape for her first-ever bikini cover shoot (just 14 weeks after giving birth!) she now says she's got bigger things in mind when it comes to keeping fit. "I'm in it for the long haul," she said. "[This] program has a clear mind/body approach. It's completely changed how I work out."

The Bikini Shoot

Elisabeth has continued to eat well in order to maintain her new shape and keep up her energy as a new mom. She snacked on almonds and fresh fruits while on set, and drank lots of water.

The Rest of Our Shoot

Elisabeth admitted to being "obsessed" with the fashion line Milly. She gravitated toward all of the brightly colored clothing and accessories on our shoot, and everything she liked seemed to match her on-set personality: Sophisticated, bright, and fun.

The Rest of Our Shoot

This was Elisabeth's favorite look to shoot. She really enjoyed being herself in a tank and jeans (J. Brand jeans, to be exact -- she adored this pair), and commented that the whole shoot was really comfortable in that it "felt more like her" than other shoots she'd done.
