Daisy Fuentes is 41 and fabulous. Here she shares how she stays fit and the importance of confidence to leading a happy life.

One of Our Favorite Cover Girls

If you're wondering what drives Daisy Fuentes when it comes to her body, it's not the opinion of others. At least, not anymore. "That's one of the best things about being older," says Fuentes. "I'm comfortable with who I am, and I don't care about fitting into any specific category or size. I can't say that was always the case." Now, health is her motivating force. "I eat well and exercise regularly because down the road I want to continue to be active," explains the three-peat cover model for FITNESS. For photo shoots, she kicks things up a notch, especially when she'll be posing in a swimsuit. "I added workouts and used weights and a stability ball in my Pilates sessions. It's FITNESS, for God's sake!" says Fuentes, laughing. "I wanted to be as fit as I can be and represent my age well." Mission accomplished.

My Workout

"I'm definitely not a cardio-machine girl -- I have a treadmill in my garage, but I don't really use it. I need to be having fun, so I play tennis and go for long hikes in the hills just five minutes from my backyard. With my trainer, we mix it up and do different things, including kickboxing."

My Happy Diet

"Thin-crust margarita pizza and champagne. One of the reasons I bought my house was because it has a wood-burning oven in which I can make pizza!"

My Confidence Secret

"I'm like everyone else. Some days you wake up feeling great about yourself. Some days not so much. My trick is to always do the best I can. It's fortifying knowing you've done everything you could to treat your body right."

I have 3 children, 19, 16, & 11. I love DF clothes, I never knew this much about her tho till my magazine came. My first child was born by c-section in 1988. I work out 6 days a week, I'm 48 yrs-will be 49 in December 08. I live on a lake we built a new home in Nov 2007 and I always wear a bikini. I don't noramlly brag but I worked out throughout my entire pregnancies and started working out very soon after they were born, after my c-section i was walking 2 miles a day on the 1 week mark of my daughter's birth. I also have worked FULL TIME for 25 yrs for the same company. For myself, working out is automatically part of my schedule. Remember to take the time for yourself, I completed 1/2 marathon this summer and walked the first 8 miles, then ran the rest and I'm usually just a very fast power walker, I never felt any soreness the day after, was very surprised, but I guess the workouts i do keep me in shape. It was truly amazing!! Mental attitude plays a huge role in taking the time for yourself to exercise/work out. We deserve an hour a day to ourselves. Have a great day!

It's easy to look this good at 41 if you DON'T have children!!!! Put someone on the front cover who is a "real life" mother at 41, who works full time, doesn't have time to work out OR have a personal trainer and I'll give some more credence to this publication.
