3 Secrets for Getting More Sleep

  1. Divvy up morning chores: Lisa Ziegler, 38, of Fresh Meadows, New York, says that she and her husband sneak in more bed time by alternating who takes their kids to school: "That extra hour I get some days makes a world of difference -- I'm not a grouchy mommy," she says.
  2. Plan ahead: Beth Coker, 47, of Medford, Oregon, does all the prep work she can at night, when she's most efficient -- packing lunches, ironing clothes, and laying them out for the next day, collecting her work papers -- so she can sleep in later.
  3. Change your routine: Eliana Agudelo, 32, of San Francisco, reports that she's been getting more sleep ever since she stopped bringing books to bed with her: "I'd always get hooked on a great novel and end up staying awake for half the night!" she says.

Nice article but we all know that we need to sleep more and have a regular and timely routine for getting the zzz we need. Would have been more helpful if it would have addressed ways to actually fall asleep and stay asleep. Or how about discussing natural alternatives and fitness routines that help promote better and more fulfilling rest at night.
