Lying Down

Feel for changes:

  • Lie down on your back with a pillow under your right shoulder.
  • Use the pads of the three middle fingers on your left hand to check your right breast.

IDC (invasive ductal carcinoma) is a very serious tumor. It's one of the most common types of breast cancer to kill people. You shouldn't make uneducated comments like this because you don't want to downplay the seriousness of this condition.

Last year I found a lump in my breast that mammograms didn't pick up, even when I could show the technician where it was. Turned out to be Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, but because it was caught relatively early, the treatment wasn't horrendous and I currently have no evidence of disease and a spectacular prognosis. F*ck cancer. Do your self exams.
