No one likes to be nagged, so give him a pat on the back when he makes a healthy choice rather than correcting him when he slips up, says Hollie Raynor, PhD, RD, an assistant professor of nutrition at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Turn food decisions into a team effort by saying, "I'm proud of you for making these changes. What else can I do to help?" Offer to stock the fridge with precut fruits and veggies for snacking or pick up his go-to healthy foods at the supermarket.
