How Can I Eat Organic on a Budget?

Green expert Sara Snows shares tips for eating organic food on a budget.
Question: How can I eat organic for less?

Answer: Buy in-season produce -- autumn picks include apples, pears, and butternut squash -- at the farmers' market; it will be cheaper there than at the grocery store. And go green when it comes to fave foods. If you eat a ton of lettuce, buy organic to make the biggest impact on your health and the environment. Finally, splurge on organic for foods on the Environmental Working Group's "dirty dozen" list: the fruits and veggies highest in pesticides (find the list at foodnews.org).
