Answer: Buy in-season produce -- autumn picks include apples, pears, and butternut squash -- at the farmers' market; it will be cheaper there than at the grocery store. And go green when it comes to fave foods. If you eat a ton of lettuce, buy organic to make the biggest impact on your health and the environment.
