When the heat is on, less is more. Keep makeup subtle -- a single shade of shadow, flushed cheeks, just-bitten lips. Start with these three tips:

Use a water-based moisturizer. A non-oily base will help long-wearing makeup stay put, says Brian Duprey, creator of Duprey Cosmetics. Follow with a matte liquid foundation.
Apply waterproof/sweatproof blush and eye shadow quickly. These products set super fast and stay on all day long.
Adhere to a two-step cleansing regimen. The adhesive properties that keep makeup in place can make cleansing tricky, says David E. Bank, MD, a dermatologist in Mt. Kisco, New York. First, swipe skin with an oil-based makeup remover to loosen makeup, then follow with a cream cleanser to whisk it away.

Depuff eyes with a chilled compress. This causes your blood vessels to constrict, which decreases swelling, says Dr. Bank. (Store eye gel or gel patches in the refrigerator, and use in the a.m. or whenever you feel puffy.)
Look for "icy" ingredients like aloe vera and menthol. Naturally cool, these substances help boost energy, especially when applied to fatigued legs.
Soothe sweaty soles. All the nerve endings in your body are connected to your feet, says skincare expert Ling Chan. To chill out from head to toe, soak your peds in cool (not ice-cold) water for about 20 minutes, then smooth cooling gel onto soles.
