One cannot live solely on cupcakes…or solely on crunches, for that matter. Sweet Tooth Sweet Life‘s Courtney is an awesome model of moderation, hitting the gym early in the day and eating a healthy dinner, and treating herself to dessert (Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies!). Talk about the sweet life.
Top training tool “I recently started using a Gymboss timer. It’s great for tracking the minutes when I’m working with clients and teaching my Tabata class.”
Morning motivation “Knowing that my workout is totally done for the day and I have the whole evening off makes it easier to skip the snooze and hit the gym. But really, knowing I only have to shower once is the biggest motivator!”
Perfect post-workout snack “I love anything with a good mix of protein and carbohydrates, like a Chobani Greek yogurt with fresh berries, nut butter on whole-wheat crackers or a shake made with a frozen banana and protein powder.”

Courtney had been reading healthy living blogs for more than two years before she decided to start her own, Sweet Tooth Sweet Life, to write about her love of food, fitness and fashion. Now, more than one year after her first post, Courtney’s still sharing yummy recipes, fun workouts and shopping tips. Here are five fun facts to get to know this fit blogger better:
Favorite way to work out? I’ve been loving BodyPump lately. Not only is it a great, full-body workout, but the rush of adrenaline I get from everyone else busting their butt along with me in class pushes me to the max.
I’m happiest when I… have a full belly, my muscles are sore from a great workout and I’m relaxing with my hubby and my funny feline, Cody. Life is good!
My fitness mantra: If you’re not having fun, then you’re wasting your time.
Scariest thing I’ve ever done: Growing up, I dealt with severe asthma, which kept me from partaking in almost any sport that involved a lot of running. It was disappointing and frustrating. But a few years ago, I decided that enough was enough, and I began to slowly work at it. This past April, I signed up for my first 10K race and crossed the finish line in just over an hour. To say that I was nervous at the start of the race is an understatement; I was petrified. But I committed, I worked hard and I succeeded, which is worth any amount of nervousness.
My fave fit snack: I love Greek yogurt with granola, Clif Z Bars and apples with peanut butter. I could eat all three every day. This quick blended drink is also a favorite:
- 1 frozen, sliced banana
- 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 scoop vanilla Sun Warrior protein powder
- ~1/4 cup oats
- pinch xanthan gum
- 2 handfuls baby spinach leaves
