Jackie Warner’s Go-To Protein Shake Recipe

When celebrity trainer Jackie Warner recently dropped by the FITNESS offices—she’d dashed in between doing a TV segment and hitting some other morning meetings—she was fresh off the success of her latest book, 10 Pounds in 10 Days, and already on to the next big project. Fans who watched her Bravo TV reality series Thintervention With Jackie Warner will recall scenes where the fitness pro showed up in contestants’ kitchens and taught them to whip up healthy, don’t-blow-your-diet shakes. Turns out, Warner sensed a secret ingredient was missing. “I’d read a lot about protein powders and consumed them myself but I couldn’t find anything with all the all-natural, organic components I thought they needed,” she says. “I wanted whey protein powder with more than protein isolate. So I spent two years developing some myself.”

The resulting product can be found in her just-launched Wellness Collection, which also includes a multivitamin, a combo Omega-3,-6 and –9 supplement, flavored H20 boosters and 150-calorie snack bars. “Plus it tastes great,” adds Warner.

Before her morning workouts, Warner whips up a healthy shake (recipe below) with the vanilla bean protein powder. “It has the perfect combination of carbohydrates, fat and protein to fuel your workout, ” she says.

Jackie Warner’s Pre-Workout Protein Shake

Serves 1

  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1/2 cup frozen spinach
  • 1 tablespoon all-natural peanut butter
  • 1 scoop vanilla bean whey isolate protein powder
  • 1/4 cup dry oats
  • Water, added until shake reaches desired texture

Blend all ingredients, pour in glass and sip on the way to the gym.

    Be careful to check out the user reviews if you go to Jackie’s website to buy the powder. Seems like she’s taking people’s $, but not delivering any product, and her customer service is unresponsive. Moreover, she seems to be providing superficial product info. Who sells a nutrition product without providing a look at the nutrition facts?! I was really interested when I first read this article, but Jackie’s website changed my mind.

    You don’t have to use Jackie Warner’s protein powder. You can use any whey isolate powder. I’ve had this shake many times using chocolate and vanilla protein powders. Both are really good!

    She motivates, and gives true facts about nutrition, what our bodies need to balance hormones, it all starts with what we put in our bodies. Just look at her body!!!! Awesome results!!! I am reading her books, and following the meal plan, I have 4 kids, I feel so much better already, mentally & physically. I am losing weight just by following her meal plan, it has “flipped a swith” on in my body to burn fat all day long just by eating her suggested foods. Jackie is my hero, and is the only person that truly does the work and motivates me with her dvd, the way she speaks to a person is always raw facts, no drama, just the truth about how to be healthy and get fit. I hope to meet her someday! Sugar is the enemy, not Jackie! I am 5’9 and 168, not doing this to loose weight really, just want to feel stronger and set a good example for my children. It really comes down to not making any more excuses and committing to a routine. I set realistic goals because Jackie’s book helped me do that. Nothing is better than 20 minutes a few times a week when you have a bunch of kiddos to care for and a home as we’ll. just can’t express how much I believe in Jackie’s mission. She is helping me be a STRONGER ME!
