While you’re on the hunt for the perfect new spring lip shade, help bring beauty back into the lives of women who are in the hospital with Burt’s Bees’ ‘Hive with Heart’ campaign. From now until June 30th, for every two lip products purchased, Burt’s Bees will donate two of the same products to the Lipstick Angels, a nonprofit that provides patients and seniors with makeovers to remind them they are beautiful no matter what they’re going through. Founded in 2012 by celebrity makeup artist Renata Helfman, the Angels use all natural and healthy products intended to improve the physical and emotional well being of the people who use them. The campaign teamed up with Anna Kendrick for its launch, providing a day of makeovers for City of Hope patients to show firsthand how a little bit of makeup can boost morale and directly relate to the recovery process. You can learn more about the campaign, buy products and even dedicate your purchase to a loved one on the Burt’s Bees website by clicking here.

Calling all FITNESS readers in the New York Tri-State Area! We love when beauty gives back in a big way and that’s exactly what will go down on Thursday, August 1st 2013, at the second annual Look Good Feel Better Beauty Editors Day at Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship store in New York City. I’ll be at the Trish McEvoy counter (her products are amazing!), taking appointments from 12pm to 7pm, so whether you want a mini-makeover, to talk fitness and beauty tips, or if you simply want to donate to an awesome charity, you can register for your 20-minute appointment here (hurry, slots are filling up fast!).
A one-on-one sit-down costs $30 and all proceeds go directly to Look Good Feel Better, a program that helps cancer patients cope with the physical side effects of treatment by boosting their self-esteem and improving their quality of life. If that’s not awesome enough, you’ll also receive a free full-sized gift—a Trish McEvoy Face Shaper (blush, bronzer, highlighter and powder in one!) followed by a makeup application or skincare or fragrance consultation. So swing by on your lunch break, bring your mom, sister, friends or coworkers and get beautified while you’re helping others.

If you’re overwhelmed by the contents of your makeup bag (what you should be using, what colors you should be wearing, how you should be applying them?) then Make Up For Ever’s Mobile Beauty School could be your beauty life-saver! The Paris-based professional brand and its artists are hitting the road to help women everywhere learn how to do their own makeup. As part of their Make Up Bag Remix program, their team of professional artists will take a look inside your makeup bag and teach you how to properly use all the products you already have, regardless of the brand (yes, that means you don’t need to break the bank on new loot!)! They’ll also help you ditch the ones that aren’t right for you due to shade or texture. Think of it as a makeover for your makeup bag. Bonus: the service is totally free!
Now through April, the mobile tour bus will be visiting these major cities:
- San Francisco, CA: February 9th – 10th
- Las Vegas, NV: February 16th- 17th
- Dallas, TX: February 23rd-24th
- Miami, FL: March 2nd – 3rd

- Boston, MA: March 23rd – 24th
- Chicago, IL: April 6th – 7th

Visit facebook.com/MAKEUPFOREVERUSA to book a 30-minute one-on-one makeup bag evaluation appointment with a professional artist. Sessions are available from 12:00pm – 8:00pm on Saturday and 11:00am – 7:00pm on Sunday.
After your hands-on lesson explaining how to utilize all your products, you’ll walk away with a new makeup bag, a custom face chart detailing how to use each product, and a list of additional product recommendations from an artist to round out your look. Plus, there will be a pro photographer on site to capture your “after” look!
For those of you who are on-the-go, you can still stop by the tour bus for quick lip and complexion touch-ups throughout the day.

Is your makeup bag bursting at the seams? Packed with products that you don’t use —or that are so old, the labels have worn off? If this sounds familiar, you need a makeup bag makeover, like the one I had last week at the Kimara Ahnert Studio in New York City. Kimara herself did my makeup and analyzed the contents of my makeup bag. I was fully prepared to be scolded, but to my surprise, she told me that my bag was one of the cleanest she’d ever seen, and skillfully chosen, as they were working well for my face’s needs. Since my makeup bag is strictly for touch-ups, Ahnert added a few more products to amp up the longevity and sophistication level of what I was using (no more worn-down black eyeliner pencil!). Watch as she analyzes our stash and shares some tips on how to streamline your own:
