This past weekend, the state of California passed the first-ever law banning indoor tanning for people under age 18. Because tanning beds were recently moved into the highest
cancer risk category by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (along with the likes of tobacco, arsenic and asbestos), and indoor tanners have a 74% higher risk of developing melanoma, according to a study published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention, we believe the ban is justified and hope that it takes hold across the country.
Tell us: What do you think of California's ban on indoor tanning for those under 18? Should other states follow suit?
