Smooth Moves: Dry Skin Solutions from the Pros

These speedy, derm-approved DIY fixes will make rough hands, elbows, knees, and feet history.
Hands and FeetCombine two tablespoons of olive oil, two tablespoons of honey, and two cups of warm water. Soak your hands and feet in the mixture for five minutes. Then pat them dry, apply Aquaphor Healing Ointment ($5, drugstores), and slip on cotton gloves or socks for two hours or overnight.
Elbows and KneesSwipe one pump of glycolic acid serum on your elbows and feet before bedtime to dissolve dead skin cells while you sleep. A good one: Renée Rouleau AHA Smoothing Serum 20% ($47, reneerouleau.com).
Flaky PatchesPick up a bottle of evening primrose capsules at a health food store. Puncture one or two capsules, squeeze the oil on any dry areas, and massage it in. The fatty acids will help heal parched skin.
