Help! "I stick with neutral makeup and sheer lip balm. I want to try different colors but still look sophisticated."
-- Fallon Bonaiuto, 27, media supervisor
Trend to try: Poppy red lips.
A notice-me pout is a simple way to revamp your appearance and make your smile stand out, Sheriff says.
To go for the bold:
Draw the line. Fallon's lip color was created with liner, not lipstick. Fill in your lips with a cherry-red liner (try merlot if your skin is medium to dark), and top it with sheer peachy gloss.
Make it last. To prevent color from bleeding, outline your lips all the way around with a shadow brush dipped in translucent powder.
Even it out. Keep the rest of your face understated with pink-peach eyeshadow, a thin line of plum eyeliner, and sheer pink blush. A finishing trick: Sheriff spritzed Fallon's entire face with an Evian mist to give her a "dewy spring glow."
The Fix: "I've never worn bright lip color before, but now I'm hooked. Bold lips are an easy way to look dressed up."
