Smoky Eyes in a Flash

Help! "I want to spice up my look but still get out of the gym superquick."
-- Kindra Hanson, 29, general manager for Peak Performance Strength & Conditioning Center

Trend to try: Soft, smoky eyes.
Muted gray eyes give you a chic look in less than three minutes.

To get smoldering:
Make peepers pop. Line your eyes with a chubby slate-toned pencil. Smudge the liner with your fingers, and dust silver shadow on top to keep it from creasing.

Lash out. Apply three coats of a black volumizing mascara (you don't need to let each dry).

Keep it simple. When smoky eyes are the focus, the rest of your face should be subdued. Use gold-toned bronzer and lip gloss.

The Fix: "I love that the whole routine took just a few minutes."

Bright Red Lipstick

Help! "I stick with neutral makeup and sheer lip balm. I want to try different colors but still look sophisticated."
-- Fallon Bonaiuto, 27, media supervisor

Trend to try: Poppy red lips.
A notice-me pout is a simple way to revamp your appearance and make your smile stand out, Sheriff says.

To go for the bold:
Draw the line. Fallon's lip color was created with liner, not lipstick. Fill in your lips with a cherry-red liner (try merlot if your skin is medium to dark), and top it with sheer peachy gloss.

Make it last. To prevent color from bleeding, outline your lips all the way around with a shadow brush dipped in translucent powder.

Even it out. Keep the rest of your face understated with pink-peach eyeshadow, a thin line of plum eyeliner, and sheer pink blush. A finishing trick: Sheriff spritzed Fallon's entire face with an Evian mist to give her a "dewy spring glow."

The Fix: "I've never worn bright lip color before, but now I'm hooked. Bold lips are an easy way to look dressed up."

Bold, Long-Lasting Eyeshadow

Help! "My makeup vanishes a few hours into my day."
-- Reagan Breinholt, 27, hairstylist

Trend to try: Earthy green eyes.
A vibrant shadow is a fun, easy way to play up your gaze.

To get eye-catching results in a blink:
Color you beautiful. Sheriff picked green hues to accent Reagan's hazel eyes. You can try them, too: Greens and golds bring out the tones in all eyes. Use a baby-pink shade on lips.

Step into the lime light. Layer emerald green eyeliner on your upper and lower lids. Then apply a sage shadow over it for staying power. The key to keeping the color chic: Concentrate it at the lash line.

Seal the deal. To make your base last, apply primer before you put on tinted moisturizer, and use blotting papers throughout the day to prevent caking.

The Fix: "The green shadow brightens my face, lasts all day and reflects my outgoing personality."

Get a Healthy Glow

Help! "I want to learn how to use highlighter to perk up my eyes, bring out my cheekbones ,and shape my nose."
-- Denise Kreft, 29, beauty publicist

Trend to try: Radiant skin.
Luminizer can make your face glow and appear energized.

To be a sheen stealer:
Rise and shine. Sweep on loose shimmer powder in the shape of a sideways V, starting above the brow bone and ending over the cheekbone. Catch the light by dabbing a pin-size amount of a cream-based luminizer down the bridge of your nose.

Fake eight hours. With a glittery gold pencil, draw in the inner corners of both eyes to add oomph.

Tone it down. Keep your foundation finish matte so you're not glowing everywhere. "That's the key to appearing sparkly, not oily," Sheriff says.

The Fix: "My skin is gleaming. After I practiced these tricks, my boyfriend said 'Wow, it looks like you actually got some sleep!'"

Bold, Bright Cheeks

Help! "I've been wearing the same shade of shadow and lipstick for almost 13 years."
-- Hitha Prabhakar, 34, CNBC contributor and founder of the Style File Group

Trend to try: Bright cheeks.
A vivid flush is the perfect way to make the transition from winter to spring.

To get cheeky:
Find the hue for you. Your cheek color should give you a lit-from-within radiance. If your skin is dark, try fuchsias and plums. If it's medium, opt for rose and mauve tones. And if it's fair, pick soft pinks and corals.

Brush it on. Instead of using your fingers, tap on cream blush with a clean foundation brush. Smile and blend it upward, starting at the apples.

Shift into neutral. Use earth tones on the rest of your face so that the focus is on your cheeks. For eyes, swipe on a shimmery hue that's one shade darker than your natural lid color.

The Fix: "With these easy changes, my makeup now matches where I am in my professional life."

Matte Berry-Stained Lips

Help! "I can't seem to part with my sheer pink lipstick day or night."
-- Andrea Mennella, 39, vice president for Blue Sky Communications

Trend to try: Berry lip stain.
A matte berry look feels ripe for spring because it gives you a juicy burst of color.

Indulge your inner artist. Take a strawberry-toned liner and draw squiggly lines along the center of your lips. Then tap -- don?t swipe -- on a rosy lipstick to add depth and blend.

Get slick. Blot the stain with a tissue and apply a little gloss to the center of your bottom lip.

Lighten up. Keep the rest of your face simple with mascara and soft rose blush.

The Fix: "The darker color and matte finish look so chic."

Fake a Sun-Kissed Complexion

HELP! "I have an uneven complexion, and I can't seem to camouflage the blotches."
-- Alison Dattoma, 33, senior sales representative in pharmaceutical sales

Trend to try: Sun-kissed bronzer.
A faux glow disguises brown spots and gives you a youthful radiance.

The foolproof plan:
Get cheeky. Instead of a cream blush, place three dots of tangerine lipstick in a small circle on your cheeks and blend with fingers.

Warm it up. Starting at the forehead, brush bronzer into the shape of the number 3 -- under your cheek and down to your jaw.

Make a match. Tawny bronzer hues work well with fair tones; a golden shimmer flatters medium skin; and a glimmering mocha enhances dark skin.

The Fix: "I learned how to cover brown spots without a caked-on look."

Dramatic Eyes and Sculpted Brows

Help! "I want to highlight my natural features but still look like me."
-- Fong Wa Chung, 27, director of development for Adopt-A-Classroom, a nonprofit organization

Trend to try: Defined brows.
A dramatic eyeliner and sculpted brows add structure to your face.

Master this combo:
Double up. Draw black liquid liner along your upper lash lines, thickening it toward the outer edges with an upward sweep. Apply two coats of black mascara to top lashes only.

Pick pink. Apply a gloss of bubblegum pink, a shade that flatters all skin tones.

Brow wow. Fill in any missing hairs and set the shape with a cream brow mousse in the same shade as your hair. "Well-groomed brows frame your face," Sheriff says.

The Fix: "I've been using the same eyeliner for years, but this lesson gave me a new, revitalized look."
