Being two sizes smaller on top than on the bottom, Bethany Gumper is used to looking for the happy medium. "If a swimsuit isn't too roomy in the chest or too tight in the butt, I'll take it," she says. That's how she wound up with her halter-top, boy-short combo. But a higher-cut bottom with a ruffle accentuates her strong legs and tiny waist; a matching ruffle on top creates volume and balances her out. "It never occurred to me to go skimpier," Bethany says. "Who knew less suit would make me feel more confident?"
