• Use a water-based moisturizer. A non-oily base will help long-wearing makeup stay put, says Brian Duprey, creator of Duprey Cosmetics. Follow with a matte liquid foundation.
• Apply waterproof/sweatproof blush and eye shadow quickly. These products set super fast and stay on all day long.
• Adhere to a two-step cleansing regimen. The adhesive properties that keep makeup in place can make cleansing tricky, says David E. Bank, MD, a dermatologist in Mt. Kisco, New York. First, swipe skin with an oil-based makeup remover to loosen makeup, then follow with a cream cleanser to whisk it away.
