Save Your Hair Style, Tips 7-9
7. Get beachy waves.Even if you're landlocked, you can create surfer-girl locks. Here's how, from Steven Dillon of the Pierre Michel Salon in New York City: Spritz damp hair with hair spray, then twist sections around your fingers horizontally, away from your scalp.
8. Dress up a pony. With a wide-toothed comb, tease the front part of your hair about 3 inches off your forehead to give it lift, then secure in the middle of the back of your head, says Bertolotti.
9. Channel your inner goddess. If you have curly hair, your best bet is a half-up, half-down style, says Evelyn Calderon, artistic director of the Butterfly Studio salon. Apply a light-hold styling cream, then take about 2 inches of hair from above each temple and twist them back, fastening with clips.
Try it! Run a drop of styling cream from roots to ends, then place a wide, soft headband at the crown.
